- Father: Flavius Valentinian I Emperor of the Western Roman Empire
- Mother: Marina Severa, Empress of the Roman Empire

- LifeSketch: Gratian (/ˈɡreɪʃən/; Latin: Flavius Gratianus Augustus;[1] Greek: Γρατιανός; 18 April/23 May 359 – 25 August 383) was Roman emperor from 367 to 383. The eldest son of Valentinian I, Gratian accompanied, during his youth, his father on several campaigns along the Rhine and Danube frontiers. Upon the death of Valentinian in 375, Gratian's brother Valentinian II was declared emperor by his father's soldiers. In 378, Gratian's generals won a decisive victory over the Lentienses, a branch of the Alamanni, at the Battle of Argentovaria. Gratian subsequently led a campaign across the Rhine, the last emperor to do so, and attacked the Lentienses, forcing the tribe to surrender. That same year, his uncle Valens was killed in the Battle of Adrianople against the Goths – making Gratian essentially ruler of the entire Roman Empire. He favoured Christianity over traditional Roman religion, refusing the divine attributes of the Emperors and removing the Altar of Victory from the Roman Senate. Gratian was the son of Emperor Valentinian I[2] by Marina Severa, and was born at Sirmium[3] (now Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia) in Pannonia. He was named after his grandfather Gratian the Elder. Gratian was first married to Flavia Maxima Constantia, daughter of Constantius II. His second wife was Laeta. Both marriages remained childless. His stepmother was Empress Justina and his paternal half siblings were Emperor Valentinian II, Galla and Justa. On 24 August 367 he received from his father the title of Augustus. On the death of Valentinian (17 November 375), the troops in Pannonia, impelled by the generals Aequitius and Maximinus, two of Valentinian's more unscrupulous ministers, proclaimed his infant son (by a second wife Justina) emperor under the title of Valentinian I.

Burial- Basilica di San Lorenzo Florence, di Firenze, Toscana, Italy, Chapel of St Aquilino. Roman Emperor. He was born in 359 AD and was given the title "Augustus" in 367 AD. He was made Emperor in the West on the death of his father, Valentinian I, in 375 AD, but was forced by the army to accept his brother, Valentinian II, as co ruler. He took power in the East in 378 AD on the death in battle of the Emperor Valens, and promoted Theodosius I as Eastern Emperor a year later. After reigning successfully for several years he became increasingly idle, devoting himself mainly to hunting, and allowed himself to be controlled by the Frankish General Merobaudes and Bishop St. Ambrose of Milan. He fell from favour with the army and public after taking a group of enemy Alans into his service and dressing as a Scythian warrior. He was assassinated in 383 AD and was buried at Milan in a mausoleum whch is now the Chapel of San Aquiliano at San Lorenzo.

- LifeSketch: Wikipedia- Gratian the Elder (/ˈɡreɪʃən/; Latin: Gratianus Funarius; Gratianus Major, "Gratian the Elder") was an Illyrian soldier of the Roman Empire who flourished in the 4th century. He was the father of Roman Emperors, Valentinian I and Valens, founders of the Valentinianic Dynasty. Life Gratian originated from the town of Cibalae (Vinkovci), in southern Pannonia Secunda (modern Croatia), possibly in the 280s.[1] During his youth, he obtained the cognomen Funarius /fjuːˈnɛriəs/, meaning "the rope-man" because he was a rope salesman. Gratian joined the army and rose through the ranks to become protector domesticus during the reign of Constantine the Great.[2] A protector domesticus named "...atianus" is attested at Salona (Split) during this time, leading some to think Gratian could have been stationed there.[2] Gratian's first independent command was as a tribune, probably in the mobile field army of Constantine.[2] During the late 320's or early 330's he was made comes of Africa, possibly to supervise the frontier.[3] However, Gratian was soon accused of embezzlement and was forced to retire.[4] Gratian was recalled during the early 340s and was made comes of Britannia. He may have been recalled to command a unit of comitatenses under emperor Constans I during his campaign on the island in the winter of 342/3.[4] After his military career ended, Gratian returned to his birthplace and lived as a private citizen with good reputation.[5] In Gratian's retirement, emperor Constantius II (reigned 337–360) confiscated all of his estates because of his suspected support of the usurper Magnentius. Nevertheless, he was still popular within the army; this popularity could have contributed to the successful careers of his sons. When his son Valens became emperor in 364, the Senate in Constantinople decreed a brass statue of him.

- LifeSketch: Grimoald (or Grimwald) (died 725) was the duke of Bavaria from about 715 to his death. He was the youngest of the four sons of Theodo of Bavaria and his wife Folchaid and the uncle of Swanachild, the second wife of Charles Martel. At first, he co-reigned with his brothers Theodbert, Theobald, and Tassilo II and then, from around 719, alone. His father divided the principality, after involving his two eldest sons with the reign of the duchy in 715. Upon Theodo's death in 716, the divided duchy was plunged into civil war and all the brothers save Grimoald were dead by 719. It is not certain if the division of the duchy was territorial or a powersharing scheme, but if the former, it seems most probable that Grimoald's capital was either Freising, which he later favoured as a diocesan seat, or Salzburg, which he later treated as a capital of sorts (Vita Corbiniani). It was Grimoald who induced Saint Corbinian to come to Bavaria in 724 to evangelise. Grimoald had married his brother's widow, Biltrude (Pilitrud), and by canon law this was incest. Corbinian promptly denounced the duke, who had already repented and relapsed. His anger was now raised and Corbinian had to flee. The next year (725), Charles Martel marched against Bavaria and carried off Biltrude and Swanachild, killing Grimoald in battle. From Wikipedia

- Siege of Oderzo: Paul the Deacon attributes the Lombard hatred for the city to the perfidy of a certain citizen of Oderzo, a "patricius Romanorum" named Gregory, who in 641 while under the promise of a truce beheaded Taso and Cacco, sons of Gisulf, the Lombard duke of Forum Iulium. The Lombard king, Rothari, subsequently led a war of vendetta and, having breached Oderzo's defenses, inflicted upon it severe devastation. However, the Lombards apparently withdrew, since in 667, Oderzo was again in the hands of the Byzantines. In that year, Lombard king, Grimoald I, still holding a grudge for the murder of Taso and Cacco, laid siege to Oderzo. Much of its population fled to the nearby cities of Heraclea and Equilium still under Byzantine control. According to Venetian tradition, one of the refugees from Oderzo was the first Doge of Venice, Paolo Lucio Anafesto. After his victory, Grimoald destroyed the city and divided its territory between the dukes of Tarvisium, Forum Iulii, and Ceneta, with the bulk going to Ceneta.[13], 667, Oderzo, Treviso, Veneto, Italy
- Clan Name: House of the Beneventan Dynasty
- LifeSketch: Grimoald (c. 610 – 671) was a 7th century King of Italy, ruling as Duke of Benevento from 647 to 662, and then as King of the Lombards from 662 until his death in 671. Grimoald was born in 610 A.D. as the heir of Duke Gisulf II of Friuli and the Bavarian Princess Romhilde, daughter of Duke Garibald I of Bavaria. From 641 to 642, he and his brother Radoald served as regents to Duke Aiulf I, their adoptive brother. In 647, Grimoald succeeded Radoald as Duke of Benevento.[2] In 662, he assassinated King Godepert and proclaimed himself King of the Lombards. He married Princess Theodota, daughter of King Aripert I. Reign Grimoald passed on the title of Duke of Benevento to his eldest son Romuald in 662, following a call to assist King Godepert in a war with his brother King Perctarit. With the aid of Garibald, Duke of Turin, Grimoald assassinated Godepert and forced Perctarit to flee. Grimoald sent Perctarit's wife and son to Benevento and took over as King of the Lombards. He promptly married Godepert's sister Theodota, in order to associate himself with the Bavarian Dynasty of Theodelinda. His skill in battle secured victories in many border wars. He personally led his armies to victory against the Byzantines (under Emperor Constans II) at the siege of Benevento. Romuald took Taranto and Brindisi, thus reducing the Byzantine influence in the region during Mezezius' rebellion in Sicily. Grimoald took Forlì in the north from the Greeks and razed Oderzo where his brother had been murdered years before. His capture of Forlì on Easter Day was polarizing between Orthodox Christians and Pagan Longobard traditionalists, as many Christians were slaughtered during festivities. While battling the Byzantines in the Mezzogiorno, he appointed Duke Lupus of Friuli as Regent in the North. Lupus usurped all authority and rebelled; he was promptly crushed, and his duchy destroyed with the help of the Avars. Lupus was killed in battle. Grimoald tracked down Lupus' aspiring son Arnefrit and his Slavic allies, defeating them at Nimis. Arnefrit was killed in battle. Grimoald placed Wechthari, a stalwart enemy of the Slavs, in Friuli. Grimoald defeated the Franks, who invaded during the infancy of Chlothar III. Grimoald had allied with Perctarit at Asti and the Avars, of whom he had been a hostage in his youth. He saved the northeast of Italy by defeating the Slav tribes and maintained internal order by suppressing the baronial revolts and autonomy of the duchies of Friuli and of Spoleto, where he installed Thrasimund. In his religion, he remained nominally Arian (though according to Vita Sancti Barbati both he and his son Romuald still practiced the ancient Pagan rights of both Benevento and the Longobard nation) despite his marriage to a Catholic. He distanced himself from the Papacy. However, he perceived Saint Michael—whose cult was spreading strongly from Monte Gargano—as the warrior-protector of the Lombard nation, replacing Wodan (Odin) due to their similar narratives at the time. He died in 671 after concluding a treaty with the Franks. His son Garibald was not elected to succeed him on account of his youth and was then deposed by the once exiled Perctarit in three months time. Grimoald was popular for his generosity and mercy, as well as his ruthlessness in war. His son Romuald was left in Benevento, which once again drifted away from the central authority. Wikipedia

- Title Of Nobility: King of Burgundy at Geneva, BET 473 AND 516, Kingdom of Burgundy, Gaul, Frankish Empire
- LifeSketch: Foundation for Medieval Genealogy GUNDOBAD [Gondebaud] (-516). Gregory of Tours names (in order) "Gundobad, Godegisel, Chilperic and Gundomar" as the four sons of Gundioc King of the Burgunds[13]. He succeeded his father in 473 as GUNDOBAD King of Burgundy, with his capital at Geneva ______________________ Wikipedia Gundobad (Latin: Flavius Gundobadus; French: Gondebaud, Gondovald; c. 452 – 516 AD) was King of the Burgundians (473 – 516), succeeding his father Gundioc of Burgundy. Previous to this, he had been a Patrician of the moribund Western Roman Empire in 472 – 473, three years before its collapse, succeeding his uncle Ricimer. He is perhaps best known today as the probable issuer of the Lex Burgundionum legal codes, which synthesized Roman law with ancient Germanic customs. He was the husband of Caretene. Early life Gundobad seized the title of Patrician when his uncle Ricimer, who had been the power behind the throne for the Western Empire, died on 18 August 472. According to John of Antioch, Gundobad had previously executed the deposed emperor Anthemius on his uncle's orders.[1] Once in power, Gundobad elevated the current Count of the Domestics, Glycerius, to the position of Western Roman Emperor. However, not long after this Gundobad left for Burgundy where his father, Gundioc, had died; the exact date is unclear, with authorities[who?] stating it was in either 473 or 474. Once in Burgundy, his three brothers presumably challenged his rule: Godegisel, Chilperic II and Gundomar. Ian Wood speculates that Gundobad's departure may have been connected with the arrival of a new emperor, Julius Nepos, who had the support of the Roman Emperor in Constantinople.[2] Once Julius Nepos landed in Portus (June 474), he deposed Glycerius, whom he made Bishop of Salona.[3] Reign The events of the first decades of Gundobad's reign are not well known. The only available source that covers this part of his reign is Gregory of Tours, who wrote almost a century later. According to Gregory, Gundobad set about ridding himself of his brothers. First slain was Gundomar, though little is known of this encounter.[4] Next killed was Chilperic. According to Gregory, Gundobad had his wife drowned by tying a stone round her neck and Chilperic's two daughters driven into exile. The older daughter, Chroma, became a nun. The other, Clotilde, had been seen by envoys of Clovis I, King of the Franks, who told their master of her beauty and intelligence. Clovis then asked Gundobad for Clotilde's hand in marriage. Gundobad was said to have been afraid to deny him.[4] However, a letter written by Avitus, bishop of Vienne, consoling Gundobad on the death of an unnamed daughter, gives details that suggest there was more to the story. According to the explication of Danuta Shanzer and Ian Wood of Avitus' notoriously difficult Latin, the bishop writes, "In the past, with ineffable tender-heartedness, you mourned the deaths of your brothers."[5] Further, Avitus alludes to Gundobad's intent to marry his deceased daughter to a foreign ruler, whom they suggest was Clovis: "Indeed," they write, "Clovis is really the only likely candidate as a prospective son-in-law for Gundobad shortly after 501."[6] If their reading is correct, then it is likely that Clotilde was offered to Clovis as an act of diplomacy, not subservience. At this point occurs the earliest firm date in Gundobad's reign: in the early months of 490, while Odoacer and Theodoric the Great were locked in battle over control of Pavia, the Burgundians seized the opportunity to invade northwestern Italy. They devastated Liguria, and carried away an unknown number of victims into captivity, if not slavery.[7] Once Theodoric had killed Odoacer and was securely in control of Italy, he sent bishop Epiphanius of Pavia on a mission to ransom as many of these captives as possible. Accompanied by Bishop Victor of Turin, they crossed the Alps in March.[8] Shanzer and Wood believe Epiphanius was possibly also entrusted with a mission in connection with the marriage of Gundobad's son Sigismund to Theodoric's daughter Ostrogotho.[9] In his account of this visit, Magnus Felix Ennodius, who accompanied Epiphanius on this journey, describes Godegisel as germanus regis, the "king's brother", and not king—again contradicting Gregory of Tours' later account.[10] Ennodius notes that "more than six thousand souls" were so ransomed; from Lyons alone 400 men were thus freed.[11] Gregory of Tours states the battle with his third brother, Godegisel, raged long. Unaware of the other's actions, each called upon Clovis trying to persuade him to join forces against the other. Clovis sided with Godegisel, who had offered him his pleasure of tribute; Wood observes that Clovis' wife, Clotilde, whose father had been killed by Gundobad, "was not likely to encourage good relations between the Franks and the Burgundians."[12] Together they crushed Gundobad's force. Gundobad fled but King Clovis pursued him to Avignon. Gundobad feared the worst with Clovis's army at the gates. But Aridius went from Gundobad to Clovis and convinced him to spare Gundobad in return for a yearly tribute.[13] The chronicler Marius of Avenches dates this conflict to 500. Gundobad later broke his promise of tribute as he regained his power and besieged Godegisel, trapped in the city of Vienne. As famine devoured Vienne, Godegisel expelled the common people from the city for fear of his own survival. An outraged expelled artisan seeking vengeance on Godegisel went to Gundobad, and with his help he navigated the aqueduct and broke into the city. Gundobad murdered Godegisel in 501 in an Arian church along with the bishop.[14] The next event about which information has survived is Gundobad's role concerning the Battle of Vouillé. He was one of several rulers to whom king Theoderic sent letters urging peace, and asking for mediation between Alaric II and Clovis.[15] Despite Theoderic's best efforts, the two kings met at Vouillé, and Alaric was slain; according to Isidore of Seville, Gundobad supported Clovis in this battle. Isidore also provides a hint that Gundobad exploited the Visigothic defeat by plundering Narbonne.[16] Delayed by the threat of the Byzantine Navy, which had been hovering off the Italian shore around the time of the battle, the Ostrogothic army arrived to relieve the Burgundian siege of Arles.[17] According to Herwig Wolfram, the Burgundians were "the real victims of the Ostrogothic counteroffensive" following the defeat of their cousins at Vouillé. "Not only had they lost all their conquered territories and hope of acquiring Arles and Avignon but all their territory as far as Orange had been devastated."[18] Following the death of King Clovis of the Franks in 511, the Burgundians became the most prestigious people in Gaul. Gundobad was favored by the court of Constantinople, which awarded him the title of magister militum.[19] Gundobad died peacefully, succeeded by his son Sigismund in 516. He also had another son, Godomar, who would succeed his brother after his execution in 524.

- LifeSketch: Foundation for Medieval Genealogy GUNTHAR ([517]-after 532). Gregory of Tours names (in order) Gunthar, Childerich, Charibert, Guntram, Sigibert and a daughter Clothsind as the children of King Clotaire and his wife Ingonde, specifying that Gunthar died in his father's lifetime[168]. It is assumed that the first three children at least were born illegitimate. Gregory of Tours reports that he served as an officer in his father's army, but died young[169].

- Title Of Nobility: King of Burgundy
- LifeSketch: Gundahar is the first king of Burgundy to be historically attested. It is unclear if he ruled alone or if he may have ruled together with brothers, as occurs in the heroic tradition; the title φύλαρχος (phylarchos) given to him by Olympiodorus of Thebes may suggest he was not the sole ruler. In Prosper of Aquitaine he is identified as rex (king). A majority of the Burgundians crossed the Rhine in 406/407, together with numerous other Germanic tribes. Their king Gundahar is first attested in 411 as cooperating with Goar, king of the Alans, to proclaim Jovinus as a new emperor in the province Germania Inferior on the lower Rhine. He is attested as being involved in Jovinus's campaigns in southern Gaul. Following Jovinus's defeat in 413, the Roman magister militum Constantius settled the Burgundians on the left bank of the Rhine as Roman foederati. Based on heroic tradition, many scholars identify the area of settlement around Worms, though some scholars have argued in favour of other locations. In the 430s, the Burgundians came under increasing pressure from the Huns; likely as a reaction to this, Gundahar attacked the Roman province Belgica Prima (based around Trier) in 435. The Burgundians were defeated by the Roman general Flavius Aetius, who nevertheless confirmed Gundahar and his people's rights to their kingdom. However, the next year 436 Aetius, accompanied by Hunnish mercenaries, attacked and destroyed the Burgundian kingdom. According to Prosper of Aquitaine, Gundahar and the majority of his people found their deaths in Aetius's attack. Aetius resettled the survivors of the destruction of the Burgundian kingdom in Savoy on the upper Rhone. The late fifth-/early-sixth century Lex Burgundionum, produced by the Burgundian king Gundobad at the Burgundians' new kingdom, mentions four older Burgundian kings: Gibica, Gundomar, Gislaharius, and Gundahar. It makes no mention of any familial relationship between the kings, however. In the heroic tradition, Gibica (Gibeche/Gjúki) appears as Gundahar's father, while Gundomar (Guthorm/Gernot) and Gislaharius (Giselher) appear as his brothers and co-kings.

- Birth: 495, Kingdom of Burgundy, Gaul, Roman Empire
- Also known as: Guntheuca of Burgundy
- Also known as: Gondioque
- Title Of Nobility: Queen of Orléans
- She was the widow of Chlodomer, brother of Clotaire: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: From Wikipedia- Guntheuc of the Burgundy, Queen of Orléans. Born: 495 at : Burgundy, France Death: circa 532 (33-41) at : Paris, France Guntheuc (or Gondioque) (495 – c. 532) was the wife of Chlodomer, king of Orléans. She later married his brother Clothar I, king of Soissons. Guntheuc may have been of Burgundian origin and the granddaughter of Godegisel a King of Burgundy. She is briefly mentioned in Gregory of Tours' History of the Franks. In 517 she married Chlodomer, king of Orléans. They are likely the parents of Gunthar, Theudebald, and Clodoald (later canonised Saint Cloud). King Chlodomer led an expedition against the Burgundians in 524. He was killed on this expedition, in the spring or summer of the same year, at the Battle of Vézeronce. His three sons were entrusted to his mother Clotilde until his widow married Clotaire I. Clotaire, however, had Chlodomer's children killed, although Clodoald managed to escape. Better known as Saint Cloud, he later became abbot of Nogent, having given up his hair, the symbol of the Frankish royalty, rather than giving up his life. After Chlodomer's death, Guntheuc married his brother Clothar I, king of Soissons. Chlothar's marriage to Guntheuc gave Chlothar access to Chlodomer's treasury and ensured the rights of Guntheuc as sole heiress of King Godégisile's lands; as Frankish law allowed a woman to inherit land if she had no sons. ****************************

- Father: Harald HALVDANSSON
- Mother: Åsa HÅKONSDATTER
- Title Of Nobility: King of Troendelagen
- LifeSketch: Halfdan Haraldsson or Halfdan the Black (not to be confused with his grandfather and namesake) was a son of Harald I of Norway by his first wife, Åsa, the daughter of Jarl Håkon Grjotgardsson of Lade. He was made sub-king of the Trondelag by his father, along with his brother Halfdan the White. According to Heimskringla, Halfdan the Black was poisoned, possibly at the behest of his sister in law Gunnhild, Mother of Kings. ________________________________________________ HALFDAN "Swarti/the Black" (-Trondheim 932). Snorre names "the eldest Guthorm, Halfdan "the Black" and Halfdan "the White"…twins and Sigfrod…fourth" as the four sons of King Harald and his wife Asa. He fought alongside his brother Halfdan the White in Estonia. Under his father's division of territories, the land north of Trondheim was granted to Halfdan "the Black", Halfdan "the White" and Sigrod. After attempting to murder his half-brother Erik at a farm at Solve in More, Halfdan was reconciled with Erik after Guthorm Sindre intervened with King Harald. On his father's abdication in favour of Halfdan's half-brother Erik, Halfdan "also took a king's high seat" ruling over Tröndheim "with the consent of all the people". He died suddenly at a feast in Tröndheim 2 years later, "the general report was that Gunhild [wife of his half-brother Erik] had bribed a witch to give him a death drink"

- LifeSketch: THIS SPACE IS FOR A LIFE SKETCH NOT JUST A LINK TO ONE Harthacnut ( also Harðacnut, Harthacanute, Hardicanute, Hardecanute, Hordaknut, Hörthaknútr, Hardeknud and Canute III or Cnut III) Born in England about 1018 – died 8 June 1042, King of Denmark from 1035 to 1042 and King of England from 1040 to 1042. He was the son of King Cnut the Great (who ruled Denmark, Norway, and England) and Emma of Normandy, born in England shortly after their marriage. When Cnut died in 1035, Harthacnut struggled to retain his father's possessions. Magnus I took control of Norway, but Harthacnut succeeded as King of Denmark and became King of England in 1040 after the death of his half-brother Harold Harefoot. Harthacnut died suddenly in 1042 and was succeeded by Magnus in Denmark and Edward the Confessor in England. Harthacnut was the last Dane to rule England. Harthacnut had suffered from bouts of illness even before he became King of England. He may have suffered from tuberculosis, and he probably knew that he had not long to live. He died on 8 June 1042 (aged 23–24) in Lambeth, England, while attending the wedding of Tovi the Proud. Some accounts record he died from a stroke brought on by to much alcohol. Other accounts imply he was poisoned for "he suddenly fell to the earth with an awful convulsion" Harthacnut was unmarried and had no known children. -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harthacnut -- -- https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardeknud -- Harthacnut (Danish: Hardeknud; ca. 1018 – 8 June 1042), sometimes referred to as Canute III, was King of Denmark from 1035 to 1042 and King of England from 1040 to 1042. But which one? Noah's Descendants In his translation of Genesis, E. A. Speiser notes that the descendants of Noah listed in Genesis 10:1-32 are often simply Hebrew names for various ethnic groups and are often grammatically plural (65, 71). Note also the reference to "nations" at 10:5 and 10:32. Here are some modern ideas on which nations the sons of Noah represent: 1. Sons of Japeth (Iapetos?): races in Asia Minor, the Aegean sea (Greeks), and beyond. Javan = Yawan in Hebrew, i.e., "Ionians" Gomer = Gimmirray in Akkadian; "Cimmerians" in Greek Ashkenaz = Ashguza in Akkadian "Scythians" Elishah = Alashiya in Akkadian "Cyprus" Kittim is the Greek Kition, modern Larnaka in Cyprus. 2. Sons of Ham: races located around Egypt. Cush, either Ethiopia or as in Genesis 2:13 possibly the land of the Kassites, in Mesopotamia. Put, is Punt, or Libya. Canaan, Canaanites, later called Phoenicians. Note that Canaan's first-born son at 10:15 is Sidon, a city in Phoenicia (and modern day Lebanon). Other cities and lands: Babel = Babylon; Erech = Uruk; Shinar = Sumer. Ninevah and Calah are both Assyrian cities, the latter built in the thirteenth centry B.C. Caphtorim, possibly inhabitants of Crete. Jebusites, Hurrians who ruled Jerusalem around 1400 B.C. 3. Sons of Shem: Semites, or people speaking Semitic languages. However, Semitic-speaking enemies of the Hebrews (Canaanite and Mesopotamian peoples) are classed under the "cursed" race of Ham. Eber = eponymous ancestor of the Hebrews Elam = Elamites, non-Semitic speakers, but "neighbor and traditional rival of Mesopotamian states" ( Aram = eponymous ancestor of the Aramaens, the most widespread of all Semitic groups. Aramaic later replaced Hebrew as the commonly spoken language of Israel. This is the language Jesus spoke. Joktan's sons are "various Arabian tribes." Compare this list of Noah's descendants with Deucalion's son and grandsons: Hellen, ancestor of the Hellenes, or Greeks. (The Greeks, both ancient and modern, call their country Hellas.) Hellen's sons were Dorus (Dorians), Aeolus (Aeolians), and Xuthus. Xuthus' sons were Ion (Ionians) and Achaeus (Achaeans), thus accounting for the four major divisions of Greek peoples. Chronology: Hebrew texts sung and written J text: c. 950 B.C. (Two kingdoms split 922 BC) E text: 900-750 B.C. (Northern Israel conquered 722 B.C.) P text: 586 B.C. (time of the Babylonian exile) First 5 books of Bible put together around 500 B.C. Greek texts sung and written Homer: 800-650 B.C. Hesiod: 750-650 B.C. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE DESCENDANTS OF NOAH After the Flood the earth was re-peopled by the descendants of Noah, "the sons of Japheth" (Gen. 10:2), "the sons of Ham" (6), and "the sons of Shem" It is important to notice that modern ethnological science, reasoning from a careful analysis of facts, has arrived at the conclusion that there is a three-fold division of the human family, corresponding in a remarkable way with the great ethnological chapter of the book of Genesis . The three great races thus distinguished are called the Semitic, Aryan, and Turanian (Allophylian). "Setting aside the cases where the ethnic names employed are of doubtful application, it cannot reasonably be questioned that the author [of Gen. 10] has in his account of the sons of Japheth classed together the Cymry or Celts (Gomer), the Medes (Madai), and the Ionians or Greeks (Javan), thereby anticipating what has become known in modern times as the 'Indo-European Theory,' or the essential unity of the Aryan (Asiatic) race with the principal races of Europe, indicated by the Celts and the Ionians. Nor can it be doubted that he has thrown together under the one head of 'children of Shem' the Assyrians (Asshur), the Syrians (Aram), the Hebrews (Eber), and the Joktanian Arabs (Joktan), four of the principal races which modern ethnology recognizes under the heading of 'Semitic.' Again, under the heading of 'sons of Ham,' the author has arranged 'Cush', i.e., the Ethiopians; 'Mizraim,' the people of Egypt; 'Sheba and Dedan,' or certain of the Southern Arabs; and 'Nimrod,' or the ancient people of Babylon, four races between which the latest linguistic researches have established a close affinity" Father: NOE (L) (BJP) (NOTE) "PROPHET" OR NOAH b: in 2944-2943 BC Mother: NAAMA OR NAAMAH (NOTES) COBA (L) EMZARAH b: in ABT 2900 BC Marriage 1 SESKEF SEAKEF SCEAF OR ODIN (NOTES) (L) TROJANS b: in 535 BC Children BEDWIG OR BEDWEG (NOTES) (L) TROJANS b: in 500 BC

- Father: Cancor Alemannien und Oberrheingau
- Mother: Angilo
