- Title (Nobility): King of The Franks (junior)
- Royal House: Capet
- Title Of Nobility: King of France
- LifeSketch: Henry I (4 May 1008-4 August 1060) was King of the Franks from 1031 to his death. The royal demesne of France reached its smallest size during his reign, and for this reason he is often seen as emblematic of the weakness of the early Capetians. This is not entirely agreed upon, however, as other historians regard him as a strong but realistic king, who was forced to conduct a policy mindful of the limitations of the French monarchy. «b»Reign«/b» A member of the House of Capet, Henry was born in Reims, the son of King Robert II (972-1031) and Constance of Arles (986-1034). He was crowned King of France at the Cathedral of Reims on 14 May 1027, in the Capetian tradition, while his father still lived. He had little influence and power until he became sole ruler on his father's death. The reign of Henry I, like those of his predecessors, was marked by territorial struggles. Initially, he joined his brother Robert, with the support of their mother, in a revolt against his father (1025). His mother, however, supported Robert as heir to the old king, on whose death Henry was left to deal with his rebel sibling. In 1032, he placated his brother by giving him the duchy of Burgundy which his father had given him in 1016. In an early strategic move, Henry came to the rescue of his very young nephew-in-law, the newly appointed Duke William of Normandy (who would go on to become William the Conqueror), to suppress a revolt by William's vassals. In 1047, Henry secured the dukedom for William in their decisive victory over the vassals at the Battle of Val-ès-Dunes near Caen; however, Henry would later support the barons against William until the former's death in 1060. In 1051, William married Matilda, the daughter of the count of Flanders, which Henry saw as a threat to his throne. In 1054, and again in 1057, Henry invaded Normandy, but on both occasions he was defeated. Henry had three meetings with Henry III, Holy Roman Emperor-all at Ivois. In early 1043, he met him to discuss the marriage of the emperor with Agnes of Poitou, the daughter of Henry's vassal. In October 1048, the two Henries met again and signed a treaty of friendship. The final meeting took place in May 1056 and concerned disputes over Theobald III and County of Blois. The debate over the duchy became so heated that Henry accused the emperor of breach of contract and subsequently left. In 1058, Henry was selling bishoprics and abbacies, ignoring the accusations of simony and tyranny by the Papal legate Cardinal Humbert. Despite his efforts, Henry I's twenty-nine-year reign saw feudal power in France reach its pinnacle. King Henry I died on 4 August 1060 in Vitry-en-Brie, France, and was interred in Basilica of St Denis. He was succeeded by his son, Philip I of France, who was 7 at the time of his death; for six years Henry's queen Anne of Kiev ruled as regent. At the time of his death, he was besieging Thimert, which had been occupied by the Normans since 1058. «b»Marriages«/b» Henry I was betrothed to Matilda, the daughter of Conrad II, Holy Roman Emperor, but she died prematurely in 1034. Henry then married Matilda of Frisia, but she died in 1044, following a Caesarean section. Casting further afield in search of a third wife, Henry married Anne of Kiev on 19 May 1051. They had four children: 1.) Philip I (23 May 1052-30 July 1108). 2.) Emma (1054-1109). 3.) Robert (c. 1055-1060). 4.) Hugh "the Great" of Vermandois (1057-1102).

- LifeSketch: Henry I (c. 1068 – 1 December 1135), also known as Henry Beauclerc, was King of England from 1100 to his death in 1135. He was the fourth son of William the Conqueror and was educated in Latin and the liberal arts. On William's death in 1087, Henry's elder brothers Robert Curthose and William Rufus inherited Normandy and England, respectively, but Henry was left landless. He purchased the County of Cotentin in western Normandy from Robert, but his brothers deposed him in 1091. He gradually rebuilt his power base in the Cotentin and allied himself with William against Robert. Present at the place where his brother William died in a hunting accident in 1100, Henry seized the English throne, promising at his coronation to correct many of William's less popular policies. He married Matilda of Scotland and they had two children, William Adelin and Empress Matilda; he also had many illegitimate children by his many mistresses. Robert, who invaded in 1101, disputed Henry's control of England; this military campaign ended in a negotiated settlement that confirmed Henry as king. The peace was short-lived, and Henry invaded the Duchy of Normandy in 1105 and 1106, finally defeating Robert at the Battle of Tinchebray. Henry kept Robert imprisoned for the rest of his life. Henry's control of Normandy was challenged by Louis VI of France, Baldwin VII of Flanders and Fulk V of Anjou, who promoted the rival claims of Robert's son, William Clito, and supported a major rebellion in the Duchy between 1116 and 1119. Following Henry's victory at the Battle of Brémule, a favourable peace settlement was agreed with Louis in 1120. Considered by contemporaries to be a harsh but effective ruler, Henry skillfully manipulated the barons in England and Normandy. In England, he drew on the existing Anglo-Saxon system of justice, local government and taxation, but also strengthened it with additional institutions, including the royal exchequer and itinerant justices. Normandy was also governed through a growing system of justices and an exchequer. Many of the officials who ran Henry's system were "new men" of obscure backgrounds, rather than from families of high status, who rose through the ranks as administrators. Henry encouraged ecclesiastical reform, but became embroiled in a serious dispute in 1101 with Archbishop Anselm of Canterbury, which was resolved through a compromise solution in 1105. He supported the Cluniac order and played a major role in the selection of the senior clergy in England and Normandy. Henry's son William drowned in the White Ship disaster of 1120, throwing the royal succession into doubt. Henry took a second wife, Adeliza of Louvain, in the hope of having another son, but their marriage was childless. In response to this, he declared his daughter Matilda his heir and married her to Geoffrey of Anjou. The relationship between Henry and the couple became strained, and fighting broke out along the border with Anjou. Henry died on 1 December 1135 after a week of illness, possibly from food poisoning. Despite his plans for Matilda, the King was succeeded by his nephew Stephen of Blois, resulting in a period of civil war known as the Anarchy. ... Family and children Legitimate In addition to Matilda and William, Henry possibly had a short-lived son, Richard, with his first wife, Matilda of Scotland. Henry and his second wife, Adeliza of Louvain, had no children. Illegitimate Henry had a number of illegitimate children by various mistresses. [See below] Sons 1. Robert of Gloucester, born in the 1090s. 2. Richard, born to Ansfride, brought up by Robert Bloet, the Bishop of Lincoln. 3. - ABDUCTED EADGIFU OF WESSEX, MOTHER OF KING LOUIS IV: In 951 Herbert abducted Eadgifu from the convent at which she was living, spirited her off to France and married her, much to the anger of her son King Louis IV.
- LifeSketch: Herbert III of Omois, also known as Herbert the Old, and Herbert III of Vermandois, was the son of Herbert II, Count of Vermandois and Adela of France, daughter of King Robert I of France. Born about 907, Herbert was not the oldest son and did not inherit the titles of Count of Vermandois, Count of Meaux, or Count of Soissons. He did, however, succeed his father as Count of Omois in 943 and held the title until his death. Along with Omois he also "received the fortress of Château-Thierry as well as the abbey of Saint-Médard, Soissons." In 923 Herbert III's father, Herbert II, participated in a successful revolt against the King of West Francia, Charles the Simple. Charles was overthrown and imprisoned by Herbert II until his death in 929. Charles Queen Eadgifu and young son had to flee to the safety of her family in England. It is therefor rather ironic that in 951 Herbert III abducted Charles widow from a convent in England, carried her off to France and married her. Eadgifu's son King Louis IV of France, who had regained the throne of West Francia, was understandably upset by his mothers abduction and marriage to the son of the man responsible for his fathers death. Herbert and Eadgifu did not have any children, the marriage occurring late in life. Herbert died without heirs between 980 and 985. King Lothair, Herbert's step-grandson, divided his estates between his nephews, Eudes I, Count of Blois (son of Herbert's sister Luitgard) and Herbert IV, Count of Troyes and Meaux (son of Herbert's brother Robert). CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO CONFUSE HIM WITH HIS NEPHEW: Herbert III of Vermandois, Count of Vermandois who lived 953–1015, and was the son of his older brother Adalbert I of Vermandois.

- Father: Bisinus König der Thüringer
- Mother: Menia OF THE LOMBARDS, Königin der Thüringer
- Birth: ABT 482, Kingdom of Thuringia
- Title Of Nobility: king of the Thuringii
- Murder of Hermanfrid: After 531 and before 534 he was lured to Zülpich under a pretext to negotiate with the Merovingian Theuderich I. and there he was thrown from the fortress walls. Gregory von Tours says succinctly: a nesquio quo (you don't know from whom), but indicates that Theuderich may have been behind the crime.
- LifeSketch: WIKIPEDIA - Hermanfrid (also Hermanifrid or Hermanafrid; Latin: Hermenfredus) was the last independent king of the Thuringii in present-day Germany. He was one of three sons of King Bisinus and the Lombard Menia. His siblings were Baderic; Raicunda, married to the Lombard king Wacho; and Bertachar. Hermanfrid married Amalaberga, daughter of Amalafrida who was the daughter of Theodemir, between 507 and 511. Amalberga was also the niece of Theodoric the Great. It is unclear when Hermanfrid became king, but he is called king (rex thoringorum) in a letter by Theodoric dated to 507. He first shared the rule with his brothers Baderic and Bertachar, but later killed Bertachar in a battle in 529, leaving the young Radegund an orphan. According to Gregory of Tours, Amalaberga now stirred up Hermanfrid against his remaining brother. Once she laid out only half the table for a meal, and when questioned about the reason, she told him "A king who owns only of half of his kingdom deserved to have half of his table bare." Thus roused, Hermanfrid made a pact with the king of Metz, Theuderic I, to march against Baderic. Baderic was overcome by the Franks and beheaded, but Hermanfrid refused to fulfill his obligations to Theuderic, which led to enmity between the two kings. In 531 or 532, Theuderic, his son Theudebert I, and his brother King Clotaire I of Soissons attacked the Thuringii. The Franks won a battle near the river Unstrut and took the royal seat at Scithingi (modern Burgscheidungen). Hermanfrid managed to flee, but the Franks captured his niece Radegund (see Venantius Fortunatus, De excidio Thoringae) and his nephews. Theuderic gave Hermanfrid safe conduct, ordered him to come to Zülpich, and gave him many gifts. While Hermanfrid talked with Theuderic, somebody pushed him from the town walls of Zülpich and he died.[1] Gregory mentions that certain people had ventured to suggest that Theuderic might have had something to do with it. Radegund was then forced to marry King Clotaire, while Hermanfrid's wife Amalaberga fled to the Ostrogoths with her children Amalafrid and Rodelinda. She was later captured by the Byzantine general Belisarius and sent to Constantinople, where Amalafrid later became an imperial general and Rodelinda was married to the Lombard king Auduin. The Thuringian kingdom ended with Hermanfrid. The area east of the Saale river was taken over by Slavic tribes, north Thuringia by the Saxons. The fall of the Thuringian dynasty became the subject of numerous epic treatments, the best known of which is in the Rerum gestarum saxonicarum libri tres by Widukind of Corvey, a Saxon foundation myth written in 967. Rudolph of Fulda tells a related story. In this version, it is the Saxons under Duke Hadugato, as allies of the Franks, who win the great battle on the Unstrut.

- Birth: ABT 510, Duchy of the Warnes, Thuringian League
- Last King of the Warnes: The tribe was decimated by the Franks making Hermengisel the last King of the Warnes
- LifeSketch: The Warnes (or Varini, Verini , also Varnes or Varins ; Greek Ουαρνοι, Ουαρίνοι, either Warnoi or Warinoi ) were a small independent Germanic people among the Saxons , originally from ancient Thuringia , living in northwestern Germany current in the Arrondissement of Mecklenburg-North-West and Schleswig-Holstein according to historians Bruno Dumézil and Stéphane Lebecq . They were neighbors and enemies of the Angles with whom they are often confused. ...Their last king, Hermengisel, who had married Thichilde to seal the friendship between his people and the Franks, decided at the article of the death of the marriage of his son Radegis with his young wife to maintain this bond, breaking the engagement of this last with a princess of the Angles. The latter, become queen, took revenge by attacking Radegis, then by capturing him. Captive, Radegis married the queen of Angles 5. , Dismissing Théodechilde. The Franks then crushed the Warnes and subdued them. (google translate from French)

- Father: Alaric DER SUEBEN
- Mother: Walawaransdatter QUADEN
- Birth: ABT 370, Mähren Pforte, Pannonia, Roman Empire
- Title Of Nobility: He established himself as Hermerico, King of the Suevi in Galicia, Hispania
- LifeSketch: Hermeric was the king of the Suevi in Galicia from perhaps as early as 406 and certainly no later than 419 until his retirement in 438. He was a pagan and an enemy of the Roman Empire throughout his life. He is given a reign of 32 years in most manuscripts of Isidore of Seville's "Historia Suevorum," but one manuscript does list his reign as 14 years. Hermeric led the Suevi across the frozen Rhine along with the Vandals and Alans in December 406. They crossed Gaul and the Pyrenees and settled in Hispania. While Theodore Mommsen believed the Suevi were "foederati" and Ernst Stein seconded the notion by believing they had made an agreement with the Roman usurper Magnus Maximus whereby they received the western half of Iberia, there is no primary evidence for any alliance between the Suevi and Rome. In 411 (according to Ludwig Schmidt) or 417 (according to Felix Dahn), Hermeric made a treaty with the Roman emperor Honorius, but in fact the only event of note in 411 was the division of Iberia sorte (by lot) between the barbarian peoples. The east of the province of Gallaecia with its capital of Braga (Bracara Augusta) fell to the Suevi, while the west of the province went to the populous Hasdingi. Between 416 and 418, the Visigoths under Wallia made war on Hermeric on behalf of Rome. In 419, after a personal dispute between Hermeric and the Vandal king Gunderic, the Vandals attacked the Suevi and trapped Hermeric in the Nervasian (Erbasian) Mountains before the Roman general Asterius intervened and the Vandals retreated. Thereafter, until the Vandals left Iberia for Africa in 429, Hermeric remained peaceful, but in 430 he began to raid Gallaecia. In 431 a Gallaecian named Hydatius went to Flavius Aëtius to plead for help against the Suevi, but Aëtius delayed until 432 the sending of the comes Censorius. According to Hydatius' "Chronicle" of contemporary events, the Gallaecian plebs in the better-fortified strongpoints defeated Hermeric and his men, inflicting heavy casualties and taking many prisoners, which forced the Sueves to release the Gallaecian families they had taken captive (430). In 435, "on episcopal intervention," possibly Hydatius', Hermeric made peace with the Gallaecians. In that same year, Hermeric negotiated through the Catholic bishop Symphosius directly with the Western Roman Emperor. In 437, Censorius made a second expedition accompanied by Fretimund. After seven years of illness, Hermeric was forced to retire from the kingship in 438 and pass it on to his son Rechila. The story, recorded in Isidore, that Hermeric sent Rechila to Baetica to defeat Andevotus, "Romanae militiae dux," is false, as there is no contemporary evidence that Hermeric retained any authority after his abdication. There appears to have been no principle of elective monarchy among the Suevi and the successes of their raids may have accounted for the contentment of their people. Hermeric's royal line lasted until 456. In 429, there appeared briefly a Suevic military leader named Heremigarius operating in Lusitania who may have been a joint monarch with Hermeric, but there is no primary source to prove it. -- Wikiwand: Hermeric

- LifeSketch: Hildegarde, was one of the younger daughters of Charles the Bald and his first wife Ermentrude, born about 856 in Orleans. Hildegarde died young, before reaching adulthood, and is therefor not included in some lists of the children of Charles the Bald. ----------------- “Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial & Medieval Families,” Douglas Richardson (2013): “CHARLES II the Bald, King of Neustria, 838-840, King of the West Franks, 840-877, King of (western) Lorraine, 870-877, King of Italy, 875-877, Emperor, 875-877, son by his father's 2nd marriage, born at Frankfurt-am-Main 13 June 823. He married (1st) at Quierzy, Aisne 13 Dec. 842 ERMENTRUDE OF ORLÉANS, daughter of Eudes, Count of Orléans, by his wife, Engeltrude. She was born 27 Sept., about 830. They had six sons, Louis (II) [King of Neustria, King of Aquitaine, King of France], Charles [King of Aquitaine], Karlmann (or Carloman) [Abbot of St.-Germain of Auxerre], Lothair [Abbot of St.-Germain of Auxerre], Dreux, and Pépin, and four daughters, Judith, Hildegarde, Ermentrude [Abbess of Hasnon], and Gisela (or Gisele). - LifeSketch: At her father's court, she developed an intense relationship with Duke Odilo of Bavaria, which led to a scandal. [1] After the death of her father (741), on the advice of her stepmother Swanahild, the daughter of Theodos II, she fled to Regensburg, where she married Odilo that same year. With him she had a son, who later became Duke Tassilo III. Presumably from 748, the death of Odilo, she exercised the guardianship of the still underage son. Salzburg, one of the residential cities of the Agilulfing family, is assumed to be their place of residence.

2 Pippin "the Hunchback" CAROLINGIENS
- Birth: ABT 750, Burgund ?
- LifeSketch: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search Himiltrude Born 742? Died 780? Concubine or Wife of Charlemagne Issue Pepin the Hunchback Himiltrude (c. 742-c.780?) was the mother of Charlemagne's first-born son Pippin the Hunchback. She was acknowledged by Pope Stephen III as the wife of Charlemagne, however, is often referred to as a concubine.[1] Life Little is known about Himiltrude's origins. Paulus Diaconus calls her a "noble girl".[1] The appearance of her name in the fraternity books of Alemannian monasteries may suggest an affiliation with the Germanic Alemannian or Alsatian nobility,[2] while other sources make her the daughter of a Burgundian count and a granddaughter of Grimbert I, Count of Paris. It is not possible, however, to extrapolate any political ramifications from Charlemagne's relationship with Himiltrude.[1] Himiltrude probably entered into a relationship with Charlemagne during the lifetime of his father, Pepin the Younger.[1] When Charlemagne acceded to the throne in 768, Himiltrude remained unnamed in official sources – contrary to the example set by Charlemagne's mother, Bertrada of Laon.[1] Himiltrude bore Charles a son called Pépin. Shortly after Pepin's birth, an alliance was formulated between Charlemagne and the King of the Lombards, Desiderius. To seal the alliance, it was agreed that Charlemagne should marry Desiderius' daughter (called Desiderata by modern scholars). Himiltrude was dismissed at that time and disappears from historical records. A grave excavated in the monastery of Nivelles was found to contain the corpse of a forty-year-old woman, possibly identifiable with Himiltrude. If so, Himiltrude would appear to have died long after 770, although if and when she retired to Nivelles cannot be deduced.[1] Her son Pépin, who suffered from a spinal deformity and was called "the Hunchback", was eclipsed by Charlemagne's sons from his later marriage to Hildegard. Following an attempted rebellion against his father, Pepin was confined to a monastery.[1] Marital status The nature of Himiltrude's relationship to Charlemagne is a matter of dispute. Charlemagne's biographer Einhard calls her a "concubine"[3] and Paulus Diaconus speaks of Pippin's birth "before legal marriage",[1] whereas a letter by Pope Stephen III refers to Charlemagne and his brother Carloman as being already married (to Himiltrude and Gerberga), and advises them not to dismiss their wives.[1] Historians have interpreted the information in different ways. Some, such as Pierre Riché, follow Einhard in describing Himiltrude as a concubine.[4] Others, Dieter Hägemann for example, consider Himiltrude a wife in the full sense.[2] Still others subscribe to the idea that the relationship between the two was "something more than concubinage, less than marriage" and describe it as a Friedelehe, a supposed form of marriage unrecognized by the Church and easily dissolvable. This form of relationship is often seen in a conflict between Christian marriage and more flexible Germanic concepts.[1] ************************************************** Keine zwei Jahre ist Himiltrud mit KARL verheiratet.

- Father: Wihtgils of Jütland
- Birth: 420, Jütland
- Residence: ABT 450, Isle of Thanet, Kent, England
- briefly mentioned in the "Prose Edda," written by Snorri Sturluson in the 13th century: (Date and Place unknown)
- According to early sources, Hengist and Horsa arrived in Britain as mercenaries serving Vortigern, King of the Britons. This event is traditionally recognised as the beginning of the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain.: (Date and Place unknown)
- Title Of Nobility: King of Saxon-Kent
- Anglo-Saxon history records Hengist and Horsa as the two Jütlandic brothers who led the Angle, Saxon, Frisian, and Jutish armies that conquered the first territories of Britain in the 5th century.: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Hengist and Horsa, Hengist d. 488; d. 455?, brothers and legendary leaders of the first Anglo-Saxon settlers in Britain who went there, according to the English historian and theologian Bede, to fight for the British king Vortigern against the Picts between AD 446 and 454. The brothers are said to have been Jutes and sons of one Wihtgils. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle says that they landed at Ebbsfleet, Kent, and that Horsa was killed at Aegelsthrep (possibly Aylesford, Kent) in 455. Bede mentions a monument to him in east Kent; Horstead, near Aylesford, may be named for him. The Chronicle says that Hengist began to reign in 455 and that he fought against the Britons; it implies that Hengist died in 488. The historic kings of Kent traced their direct descent from Hengist, although the Kentish royal house was known as Oiscingas, from Hengist’s son Oeric, surnamed Oisc (or Aesc), who is said to have reigned alone from 488 to 512 Horsa and his brother Hengist, with three warships were supposedly the first Anglo-Saxons leaders to arrive in what is now England, in the mid-fifth century, at the invitation of Vortigern, King of the Britons, to assist him in fighting the Scots and Picts. At some point, they turned against the Britons instead. Early Sources It is Bede, in the Historia Ecclesiastica Gentis Anglorum (Ecclesiastical History of the English People) completed in about 731, who states that "the first commanders are said to have been the two brothers Hengist and Horsa"[2] (Duces fuisse perhibentur eorum primi duo fratres Hengist et Horsa), the sons of Wihtgils, son of Witta, son of Wecta, son of Woden. (Erant autem filii Uictgilsi, cuius pater Uitta, cuius pater Uecta, cuius pater Uoden). Nennius' work Historia Brittonum, written in the 8th century further elaborated on the story, stating that they were exiled from Germany,[3] and he first introduces the story of Hengist (at this stage unnamed) beautiful daughter, who arrived later in a group of 16 vessels, and so bewitched Vortigern that he exchanged Kent for her.[4] Bede goes on to say that "Horsa was afterwards slain in battle by the Britons, and a monument, bearing his name, is still in existence in the eastern parts of Kent."[5] It is the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, that dates this event to 455 and that it happened at Aylesford. Later Bede notes that Hengist was the father of Oeric, and that Oeric accompanied Hengist upon his invitation by Vortigern.

- Father: Gotfrid Herzog der Alamannen
- Mother: Unknown VON BAYERN
- Birth: ABT 675, Netherlands, Herzogtum Alamannien
- Also known as: Huocin, Houchi, or Hug der Alemannen
- Occupation: Alamannic nobleman, of Alamannia, Duke of Allemania, duc des Alamans de Rhétie, Duc d'Alémanie (14e, vers 709-vers 712), Nobleman, Herzog von Alamannien
- Title Of Nobility: Duke of Alemannia
Huoching of Alamannia (c. 675–744) was a German nobleman. According to the 9th-century Vita Hiudowici of Thegan, he was the son of Gotfrid Agilolfing (c. 650–709). Huoching's son, Hnabi (Nebi), was the founder of the Ahalolfings dynasty, which rose to fame in Alamannia during the Carolingian period. Agilofing ancestry has been called into question in studies. Wenskus ([year needed]: 497–500) has suggested a connection of Huoching and Hnabi with the historical Nibelungs. He compares the father-son couple Hoc and Hnaefen to the heroic poetry of Ancient English (Beowulf, Finnsburgh's fragment, Widsith), suggesting that Huoching and Hnabi are the historical template of these names in later heroic poetry. In this, he is following a suggestion made as far back as 1849 by John Mitchell Kemble in History of the Saxons in England (p. 419).

- Father: Lantbert GRAF
- Mother: Deotbric spouse of Lantbert GRAF
- Birth: ABT 754, Bliesgau, Frankenreich
- Residence: ABT 799
- Also known as: Ruodolt
- Title Of Nobility: 1st Frankish - Count of Vannes
- LifeSketch: Frodoald or Hrodolt a variant of the root " hrot " found in Hrotharius that is to say "Lothaire", comes from the family of Widonides also called family of " Guy, Garnier, Lambert " from Austrasia and owned in this region for several generations. His name is noted with those of his brothers Gui and Garnier in 782 in a diploma from Charlemagne relating to the monastery of Hornbach . He is the youngest son of Lambert and Teutberge and the brother of Guy , Count of Nantes and Marquis de la Marche de Bretagne. Frodoald became Count of Vannes before 799 when he was subordinated in this charge to his brother the Marquis Guy de Nantes . It is in this context that he must participate the same year with his brother in an expedition to Brittany led by the " marquis and his lieutenants the counts ". It seems that Frodoald exercises his authority especially in the Romanesque area of the county where he dispenses justice through his two missi Frodaldi comitis Gautro and Hermandro who preside over the judgment of a certain Anau inhabitant of the village named Landegon le September 29, 803. Although this is not specified Frodoald undoubtedly also participates in the expedition of 811 sent by Charlemagne " against the Bretons in order to punish their perfidy ". Frodoald undoubtedly died around 814 year when his function was exercised by his son Gui II de Vannes ------ In 772, Hrodold donated property near Alzey and Bingen and property in the Taunus to the Fulda monastery. The brothers' claims to the Mettlach monastery were rejected by King CHARLES THE GREAT in 782--

- Father: Adalrich Heticho VON ELSASS
- Mother: Berswinde D'AUSTRASIE
- Birth: ABT 673, Elsaß, Burgund, Frankenreich
- Also known as: Hugo d'Alsace
- LifeSketch: from Wikipedia ..The bishop tried to restore the duke's relationship with his daughter, but Adalrich, fearing the effect of admitting to having a daughter hiding in poverty in a monastery would have on his subjects, refused. A son of his, ignoring Adalrich's orders, brought his sister back to Hohenburg, where Adalrich was holding court. When Odilia arrived, Adalrich, in a rage, struck a blow with his sceptre to his son's head, accidentally killing him. Disgraced, he reluctantly allowed Odilia to live in the monastery, which had no abbess, with a minimal wage under a British nun. That son was Hugues who left a wife and 3 children

- Father: Hugus Hausmeier in Austrasien
- Birth: ABT 635
- Also known as: Chugoberctus
- LifeSketch: Hugobert (also Chugoberctus or Hociobercthus) (died probably in 697) was a seneschal and a count of the palace at the Merovingian court during the reigns of Theuderic III and Childebert III. He was a grandson of the dux Theotar, and it is assumed, but not proven, that his father was Chugus, who in 617 became mayor of the palace of Austrasia. The juxtaposition of names in the Vita Landiberto episcopi Traiectensis may imply a relationship between him and the family of Saint Lambert (see below). It has been disproven that he is one and the same with bishop Hugobert of Liège, because his wife appears in the records of Echternach in the year 698 as a widow. He was married to Irmina of Oeren, who, shortly after his death, made possible the founding of the Abbey of Echternach. Irmina was sister to Adela of Pfalzel, founder of the convent Pfalzel, who is frequently confused with her daughter of the same name. He last appears in a royal charter dated 14 March 697. Hugobert and Irmina had several daughters, including: Plectrude, 691/717 witnessed, the first wife of Pippin of Herstal and founder of the Abbey St. Maria im Kapitol in Cologne Adela (655-732), abbess of Pfalzel, married to Eudes I, Duke of Aquitaine (questionable Odo the Great and son of Saint Oda) Regintrud, whose second marriage after the death of her husband was to the duke Theudebert of Bavaria Irmina (d. ca 704), married to Chariveus, brother of Lambert, Count of Hesbaye. Other children sometimes attributed by genealogists to Hugobert and Irmina include: Chrodelinda, who was likely the daughter of Irmina and Chiriveus. She married Wido, Abbot of Saint Wandrile. Their son Warnhar was Count of Horbach and was the patriarch of the Widonids. Bertrada of Prüm (b. c. 670, d. after 721), the founder of the Prüm Abbey and mother of count Caribert of Laon, who was father of Bertrada of Laon, who in turn was mother of Charlemagne. Hugobert has been speculated by genealogists to have been ancestor of a number of powerful families of the Frankish nobility, including the Etichonids, Agilofings, Widonids, Carolingians and Robertians/Capetians, as well as the family of William of Gellone. All of these connections are speculative in nature.

- LifeSketch: Hugobert (also Chugoberctus) († probably 697) was Seneschal among the Merovingians 693/694 and is referred to as Count Palatine in 697, the presumed year of his death. He was a grandson of the dux Theotar, and it was suspected, but not proven, that his father was that Hugus or Chugus, who was a houseman in Austrasia around 617; however, it is disproved that Hugobert was with the bishop Hugobert of Liège (around 701–727) could be identical, since his wife appears as a widow in Echternach documents as early as 698.
