- LifeSketch: The book "Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Volume VI, R-S," by Robert Charles Anderson, pp. 578-80: "THOMAS STREAM ORIGIN: London. MIGRATION: 1635 on the "Truelove" (on 19 September 1635, "Thomas Streme," aged 15, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the "Truelove" [Hotten 131]). FIRST RESIDENCE: Weymouth. OFFICEHOLDING: Sergeant of the Weymouth trainband [PCR 4:119]. His inventory included "a sword & belt" valued at £1 10s. [SPR 4:119]. ESTATE. On 12 April 1648, "W[illia]m Richards of Waimouth" sold to "Henry Kingman of Waymouth" a piece of upland bounded by "Thomas Streame south" [SLR 1:91]. There is no entry for Thomas Stream in the Weymouth land inventory of about 1643. Thomas Stream does, however, appear as an abutter in some of the other entries. He held land adjoining the East Field lots of Angel Holland and Jeffrey Staple, the Easterneck lot of John Whitman and the Westerneck lot of William Richards [Weymouth Hist 1:185, 191, 194, 195]. On 10 July 1662, administration on the estate of "the late Thomas, Streame of Weimouth is granted to Ottes his mother in behalf of herself & children" [SPR NS 1:80]. In an undated inventory, "[w]e whose names are underwritten being desired to appraise the goods & estate that was left by Thomas Streame of Weymouth lately deceased, when we came together, we found that his estate & his mother & his brother Benjamine Streame were so joined together that we could not distinguish it one from another and as we were informed, they did all improve their time & estate together, & therefore we thought good to take an inventory of the whole out of the which we judge all his debts to be paid, & we think one-third part of that which doth remain did belong to him that is deceased, but we leave it to the Honored Court to determine as their Worships see good." The estate totalled £431 12s., of which £162 was real estate: "their dwelling house & the spot of land adjoining thereunto," £25; "seven acres of land near unto their house," £20; "twelve acres of upland more near Rich[ar]d Bolter's house," £20, "three acres more of land in the Range Field," £6 "nine acres more of upland in the Ferry Field," £16; "salt meadow three acres at the Burying Island," £20; "salt meadow three acres at Braintry," £15, "five acres of fresh meadow," £2 10s.; "woodland twenty acres among the Great Lots," £5; "woodland more nine acres near the town," £7; "woodland more tern acres amongst the Great Lots," £2 10s.; woodland more eighteen acres near Elder Bates mill," £13; "woodland more near the pen twenty & four acres," £4; and "two common lots," £5 [SPR 4:119]. BIRTH: About 1620 (aged 15 on 19 September 1635 [Hotten 131]), son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Whitman) Stream. DEATH: Weymouth 27 May 1662. MARRIAGE: None recorded. CHILDREN: None recorded. ASSOCIATIONS: Thomas Stream was brother of JOHN STREAM {1635, Weymouth}, of Benjamin Stream and of Elizabeth (Stream) Holbrook, wife of John Holbrook [GM 2:352, 354]. The mother of Thomas Stream was Elizabeth (Whitman) Stream, sister of ZACHARIAH WHITMAN {1635. Weymouth}. She married (2) after 1653 JOHN OTIS {1633, Hingham} [GM2:5:322-26]. On 22 February 1619/20, the Bishop of London issued a marriage license to "Thomas Streame, cordwainer, and Elizabeth Whitman, spinster, daughter of Richard Whitman, of Leigh, co. Bucks, husbandman; at St. Bennet, Paul's Wharf, London" [Harleian Society 26:84], "Thomas Streame and Elizabeth Whiteman" were married at St. Bene't and St. Peter, Paul's Wharf, London, on 22 February 1619/20 [Harleian Society, Register Section, 39:3]. In the Weymouth land inventory of about 1643, Angel Hollard held a parcel of land in the East Field "first granted to widow Streame" [Weymouth Hist 1:185, 188]. The land inventory entry for John Rogers included a small parcel of land bounded "on the west with the land of widow Oatis" [Weymouth Hist 1:191], which is consistent with the fact that the remarriage of the widow Stream to John Otis took place at about the same time that the inventory was being compiled. In her will, dated 22 September 1672 and proved 17 July 1676, "Elizabeth Otess of Waymouth ..., widow," bequeathed to "my son John Stream fourscore pounds sterling to be paid by my son-in-law Lt. John Holbrooke," along with some moveables; to "my daughter Elizabeth Holbrooke fifteen pounds of that hundred her husband is to pay," along with some moveables; to "Ichabod five pounds"; "Lt. John Hobrooke" to be executor and residuary legatee [SPR 6:133]. The inventory of the estate of "Eliz[abeth] Oates living and of her son Benjamin Stream deceased the 27:3m:1663 [27 May 1663]," taken 22 July 1663, totalled £399 4s., all real estate, substantially the same as that inventoried when his brother Thomas died [SPR 4:148-491. On 30 July 1663, "power of administration to one-third part of the inventory as the right of Benjamin Stream is granted to Elizabeth Oatis formerly Streame his mother in behalf of herself and the children of the said [Streame]' [SPR 4:149]. (The final phrase of this document presumably refers to the Stream children of the widow Otis, and not children of Benjamin, who was not known to have married.) COMMENTS: On 1 May 1666, in "reference unto a deed surrendered up unto our Court [at Plymouth] by Lieutenant Holbrooke, of Weymouth, made and given by Josias Wampatucke and Webcowett unto Sergeant Thomas Streame, for the lease of a certain tract of land, for the gratification of the said Lieut. Holbrooke, and in reference to his free acknowledging thereof, the Court hath granted unto him one hundred and twenty acres of land" [PCR 4:119]."

- Father: Styr, son of Ulf
- Birth: 975, York, Yorkshire, England
- Also known as: Sigen Styrsdottir of Northumbria
- LifeSketch: Sige (also Sigen) was the daughter of Styr, son of Ulf. Styr was identified by Simeon of Durham as 'a rich citizen of York', but was most likely from Deira. About 1004 (or before) Sige became the 2nd wife of Uhtred of Bamburgh, it appears the marriage was a political alliance with the Danes in Deira. As Sige's father was rich and influential the marriage would strengthen Uhtred's standing in Northumbria. In return, as part of the marriage agreement, Uhtred was to kill Thurbrand the Hold, identified as a mortal enemy of Styr. Sige and Uhtred certainly married no later that 1004 but separated about 1006. Probably because Uhtred did not kill Thurbrand as promised, and had another more prosperous marriage in mind. Before separating Sige and Uhtred had two children: -Eadulf, also identified as Eadwulf and Eadulf III, died 1041. -Gospatric. Uhtred should have upheld his part of the marriage agreement and killed Thurbrand for in 1016 Thurbrand instead murdered Uhtred. Uhtred's brother succeeded him as Lord of Northumbria, then Uhtred's oldest son Ealdred. Upon Ealdred's death in 1038, Sige's oldest son Eadulf, half-brother of Ealdred, became Earl of Northumbria. After her marriage to Uhtred it is not known what became of Sige.

- LifeSketch: Agni Dagsson (Agne, Hogne or Agni Skjálfarbondi) was a mythological king of Sweden, of the House of Yngling. Snorri Sturluson relates that he was the son of Dag the Wise, and he was mighty and famous. He was also skilled in many ways. One summer, he went to Finland with his army where he pillaged. The Finns gathered a vast host under a chief named Frosti. A great battle ensued which Agni won and many Finns were killed together with Frosti. Agni then subdued all of Finland with his army, and captured not only great booty but also Frosti's daughter Skjalf and her kinsman Logi. Agni returned to Sweden and they arrived at Stocksund (Stockholm) where they put up their tent on the side of the river where it is flat. Agni had a torc which had belonged to Agni's great-great-great-grandfather Visbur (who, interestingly, was the son of Skjalf's niece Drífa). Although, they were related, Agni married Skjalf who became pregnant with two sons: 1. Erik 2. Alrik. Skjalf asked Agni to honor her dead father Frosti with a great feast, which he granted. He invited many guests, who gladly arrived to the now even more famous Swedish king. They had a drinking competition in which Agni became very drunk. Skjalf saw her opportunity and asked Agni to take care of Visbur's torc which was around his neck. Agni bound it fast around his neck before he went to sleep. The king's tent was next to the woods and was under the branches of a tall tree for shade. When Agni was fast asleep, Skjalf took a rope which she attached to the torc. Then she had her men remove the tent, and she threw the rope over a bough. Then she told her men to pull the rope and they hanged Agni, avenging Skjalf's father. Skjalf and her men ran to the ships and escaped to Finland, leaving her sons behind. Agni was buried where he died, at a place presently called Agnafit, which is east of the Tauren (the Old Norse name for Södertörn) and west of Stocksund. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agne https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/12211/images/dvm_GenMono001651-00037-1?ssrc=&backlabel=Return

- Also known as: Cleopatra, Princess of Syria I
- Alternate Birth Date: 210 BC, Alexandria, Egypt
- Title Of Nobility: Queen of Ptolemaic Egypt
- Royal House: Ptolemaic: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Cleopatra I was the daughter of Antiochus III the Great, King of the Seleucid Empire, and Queen Laodice III. Queen In 197 BC, Antiochus III had captured a number of cities in Asia Minor previously under the control of the Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt. The Romans supported the Egyptian interests, when they negotiated with the Seleucid king in Lysimachia in 196 BC. In response, Antiochus III indicated his willingness to make peace with Ptolemy V and to have his daughter Cleopatra I marry Ptolemy V. They were betrothed in 195 BC and their marriage took place in 193 BC in Raphia.[4] At that time Ptolemy V was about 16 years and Cleopatra I about 10 years old. Later on, Egypt's Ptolemaic kings were to argue that Cleopatra I had received Coele-Syria as her dowry and, therefore, this territory again belonged to Egypt. It is not clear if this was the case. However, in practice, Coele-Syria remained a Seleucid possession after the Battle of Panium in 198 BC.[5] In Alexandria, Cleopatra I was called the Syrian.[6] As part of the Ptolemaic cult she was honoured with her husband as Theoi Epiphaneis. In line with ancient Egyptian tradition, she was also named adelphe (= sister) of Ptolemy V. A synod of priests held at Memphis in 185 BC transferred all honours that Ptolemy V had received in 196 BC (written on the Rosetta stone) to his wife. In 187 BC, Cleopatra I was appointed vizier. Queen Regent Upon her husband's death in 180 BC, she ruled on behalf of her young son, Ptolemy VI. She was the first Ptolemaic queen to rule without her husband. This can be concluded from date formulas on the papyri written in the years from 179 BC to 176 BC, where Cleopatra I is called Thea Epiphanes and her name is written before that of her son. She also minted her own coins, which also bear her name before that of her son. On June 22, 2010, archaeologists uncovered a gold coin bearing her image at Tel Kedesh in Israel near the Lebanon border. It was reported to be the heaviest and most valuable gold coin ever found in Israel.[7] Just before his death, Ptolemy V had planned to conduct a war against the Seleucid kingdom but when Cleopatra I became sole ruler, she immediately ended the war preparations directed against her brother Seleucus IV Philopator. Cleopatra I died around 176 BC. The year after her death, her son Ptolemy VI and her daughter Cleopatra II married.

- LifeSketch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laodice_(wife_of_Mithridates_II_of_Pontus) Laodice (Greek: Λαοδίκη; flourished 3rd century BC) was a Greek Princess of the Seleucid Empire. She was one of the daughters and youngest child born to the Seleucid Monarchs Antiochus II Theos and Laodice I.[1] Among her siblings were her brothers Seleucus II Callinicus and Antiochus Hierax. Laodice was born and raised in the Seleucid Empire. Somewhere between 245 BC to 239 BC, her mother and Seleucus II arranged for her to marry King Mithridates II of Pontus.[2][3] Laodice married Mithridates II, as a part of a political alliance between the Seleucid Empire and the Kingdom of Pontus. In 245 BC, her mother and Seleucus II were in the Third Syrian War Third Syrian War. To gain support from the Kingdom of Pontus, Laodice was given to Mithridates II in marriage and as a marriage gift, Phrygia was transferred as well.[2] Through her marriage Laodice became Queen of Pontus. Mithridates’ marriage to Laodice was one of the most important events of his reign and was an ambitious marriage policy he initiated.[4] Through his political alliance and marriage to Laodice, Mithridates II allied himself to the most important royal house in Asia, gaining impressive recognition for Pontus as a political power in the Hellenistic world.[4] This marriage also strengthened the pro-Seleucid orientation of Pontus foreign policy.[3] The marriage occurred early in the reign of Seleucus II Callinicus, so he could secure Anatolia behind him, so that Seleucus II could turn his attention to war with the Egyptian Greek Pharaoh Ptolemy III Euergetes.[4] At some point, Laodice may have influenced Mithridates II by her desire to weaken the Seleucid state, by supporting her first brother Seleucus II Callinicus in joint rule with her other brother Antiochus Hierax, who were at civil war with each other.[4] Laodice bore Mithridates II three children, two daughters: Laodice III, Laodice of Pontus and a son Mithridates III of Pontus.[2]
- LifeSketch: Laodice appears to have come from obscure origins. Laodice could have been a supposed daughter of the Seleucid King Antiochus IV Epiphanes. This is based on the assumption that the sister of Alexander Balas who appeared in Rome with him in 153 BC as a genuine daughter of Antiochus IV Epiphanes was the Laodice who married Mithridates III. Antiochus IV Epiphanes had two daughters who were Laodice VI from this marriage to his sister-wife Laodice IV and his other daughter was Antiochis the child from his concubine. However this assumption shows that Antiochus IV Epiphanes may have had another daughter called Laodice, however this is not certain. The assumption shows that there may be some confusion about the identity of this Laodice and Laodice VI. Laodice bore Mithridates III three children: Mithridates IV of Pontus, Pharnaces I of Pontus and Laodice. -- Wikiwand: Laodice (wife of Mithridates III of Pontus)

Inquisitions after a writ dated 8 Sep "2 Edw I" following the death of "Gilbert Talebot" name “Richard his son aged 24 and more is his next heir”. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/ENGLISHNOBILITYMEDIEVAL3T-Z.htm#_Toc21506726 ------------------------------------------------------------------- From an unknown source: Gilbert Talbot, heir and probably son, was a minor, 13 April 1234, when his wardship and marriage were granted to John De Monemuth, but was holding Linton and Credenhill, Herefordshire, 1242-43. On 23 July 1254 he was to have 6,000 quarrels to supply the castles of Grosmont, Skenfrith and White in Wales. In 1255 he was bailiff of Prince Edward, and Justice of Chester; and from 1256 took a prominent part in the defense of the marches against Llewellyn, Prince of Wales. On 5 July 1258 he was given letters of credence to the preceptor and brothers of the New Temple to expound a secret business for the King. On 3 November 1258 he was appointed to keep the county of Hereford, and in that year and until 1262 was in commissions. By writ dated 27 March 1260 he was summoned for service in London. On 15 May 1260 he was given the custody of the castles of Grosmont, Skenfrith and White in Wales, and on 24 December 1262 he was directed to fortify them, as also Monmouth Castle, Wales, against Llewellyn. In 1262 he was keeper of the lands of Prince Edward. In 1263 he was summoned to be at Hereford with horses and arms on Monday after the Purification. He was granted a protection on 13 August 1265 until Easter following; and on 17 August 1268 was ordered, with others, to be at Montgomery, 14 September, to settle matters relating to the peace with Llewellyn.
