- LifeSketch: This family is obviously of Welsh origin; the first Lancashire members of it—Iorwerth (d. 1215) and Madoc, sons of Bleiddyn—are supposed to have been among the faithful vassals of Robert Banastre, expelled from Wales about 1167 About Iorwerth de Hulton Iorwerth and Madog were the first of the family to relocate in Lancashire, after having been exiled from Wales in 1167. The implication, then, is that their father was dead (or he also would have relocated), and they were adults, so around 20. After going to Lancashire, Iorwerth was called Jorverth, the "Englishing" of his name. - LifeSketch: King of Siluria (now Monmouthshire, etc.), where he died. His valiant services to his country have been told in connection with the attempted invasions of the island. The Bards record his wise saying: "Oppression persisted in brings on death." notes or source: ancestry.com & HBJ King Caradoc's birth-book (pedigree register) records his own as well as others' descent from illustrious ancestors, through thirty-six generations from *Aedd Mawr.
- National Identification: The Silures fiercely resisted Roman conquest about AD 48, with the assistance of Caratacus, a military leader and prince of the Catuvellauni, who had fled from further east after his own tribe was defeated. The first attack on the Welsh tribes was by the legate Publius Ostorius Scapula about AD 48. Ostorius first attacked the Deceangli in the north-east of what is now Wales, who appear to have surrendered with little resistance. He spent several years campaigning against the Silures and the Ordovices. Their resistance was led by Caratacus, who had fled from the south-east (of what is now England) when it was conquered by the Romans. He first led the Silures, then moved to the territory of the Ordovices, where he was defeated by Ostorius in AD 51. The Silures were not subdued, however, and waged effective guerrilla warfare against the Roman forces. Ostorius had announced that they posed such a danger that they should be either exterminated or transplanted. His threats only increased the Silures' determination to resist. They surrounded and attacked a large legionary force occupied in building Roman forts in their territory; it was rescued by others only with difficulty and considerable loss. The Silures also took Roman prisoners as hostages and distributed them amongst their neighbouring tribes in order to bind them together and encourage resistance. Ostorius died with the Silures still unconquered. After his death, they defeated the Second Legion. It remains unclear whether the Silures were militarily defeated or simply agreed to come to terms, but Roman sources suggest rather opaquely that they were eventually subdued by Sextus Julius Frontinus in a series of campaigns ending about AD 78. The Roman Tacitus wrote of the Silures: non atrocitate, non clementia mutabatur – the tribe "was changed neither by cruelty nor by clemency". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silures

- LifeSketch: Prasutagus was king of a British Celtic tribe called the Iceni, who inhabited roughly what is now Norfolk, in the 1st century AD. He is best known as the husband of Boudica. Prasutagus may have been one of the eleven kings who surrendered to Claudius following the Roman conquest in 43, or he may have been installed as king following the defeat of a rebellion of the Iceni in 47. As an ally of Rome his tribe were allowed to remain nominally independent, and to ensure this Prasutagus named the Roman emperor as co-heir to his kingdom, along with his two daughters. Tacitus says he lived a long and prosperous life, but when he died, the Romans ignored his will and took over, depriving the nobles of their lands and plundering the kingdom. Boudica was flogged and their daughters raped. Roman financiers called in their loans. All this led to the revolt of the Iceni, under the leadership of Boudica, in 60 or 61. Coins have been found in Suffolk inscribed SVB ESVPRASTO ESICO FECIT, "under Esuprastus Esico made (this)" in Latin. Some archaeologists believe that Esuprastus was the true name of the king Tacitus calls Prasutagus, while others think he was a different person. Others interpret Esuprastus is a compound name, with "Esu-" deriving from the god Esus and meaning "lord", "master" or "honour," and "Prasto-" being an abbreviated personal name, the coin inscription thus meaning "under Lord Prasto-". It is also notable that coins of the Corieltauvi have been found inscribed with the similar names IISVPRASV and ESVPASV. The name of an earlier king of the Iceni appears on coins as SCAVO, a name which may be related to the Latin scaeva, "left", and scaevola, "left-handed." Both rulers' coins are similarly Roman in style and language and were probably issued within twenty years of each other. Chris Rudd suggests that Esuprastus, whom he identifies with Prasutagus, succeeded Scavo after the Icenian rebellion of 47.

The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records the death in 808 of "Cadell king of Powys"[592]. The name of Cadell´s wife is not known. Cadell & his wife had two children... ** from British Kings and Queens (Mike Ashley) p 155 Cadell ap Brochfael Powys, ? - 808. Ruler of Powys during the oppressive reign of the Mercian Cenwulf. Cadell died before Cenwulf's main drive into Wales, and he may have benefitted from the comparative peace that followed the construction of Offa's Dyke. However, in the last year of Offa's reign, the Mercian penetrated into Rhuddlan, and this was a signal of the fragile relationship that would exist between Welch and Mercians for the next thirty years. Cadell ap Brochfael (English: Cadell, son of Brochfael; died c. 808), also known as Cadell Powys, was an 8th- and 9th-century king of Powys. He was the son of Brochfael ap Elisedd, whom he succeeded to the throne c. 773. The Annals of Wales mention his death, and Phillimore's reconstruction dates the entry to AD 808. His name also was inscribed (as "Cattell") in the Pillar of Eliseg. «b»Children:«/b» 1.) Nest ferch Cadell, b. Abt 770, of Powys gwlad, Wales, d. 842 (Age ~ 72 years) 2.) - LifeSketch: One of the early kings of the kingdom of Powys was Cynan Garwyn (fl. Latter half of the 6g ). He was the son of Frochwel Ysgithrog and a father of Selyf ap Cynan, who was killed at the Battle of Chester (c . 615 ). At that time the boundaries of Powys extending east, over the Offa's Dyke today, and include significant parts of the Borders. «b»History «/b» Sang the poet Taliesin ode eulogy to Cynan called Trawsganu Cynan Garwyn. If the authorship is true, this is the oldest poem available in the Welsh language. In the poem Cynan is proposed as a brave and fierce warrior assaulting other Britannian kingdoms , including Cornwall. Proan adventure on Glamorgan is referred to by Cynan in Cadog Life. King Cadog the warrior king stopped. The event could be approximately 577. Later there are references to Cynan in the Tales of the British Isles. According to the death of Beuno, Cynan gave generous gifts to Saint Beuno.

- LifeSketch: Cyngen Glodrydd was an early 6th-century King of Powys. He was the son of King Cadell Ddyrnllwg, and was preceded on the throne by Rhyddfedd Frych, who perhaps was his uncle. Cyngen married St. Tudlwystl, a daughter of Brychan ap Gwyngwen ap Tewdr (often confused with King Brychan Brycheiniog) and they were parents of a large family: Brochfael Ysgithrog, Cadell, Ieuaf, Maig Myngfras, Mawn and Sanan. What is probably his memorial stone was discovered being used as a gatepost in Tywyn (Gwynedd) in 1761. He was apparently buried with St. Cadfan in the local churchyard.

- Also known as: King Cadwallon
- Title Of Nobility: King of Gwynedd (Predecessor: Cadfan ap Iago; Successor: Cadfael Cadomedd)
- LifeSketch: Cadwallon ap Cadfan was the King of Gwynedd from around 625 until his death in battle. The son and successor of Cadfan ap Iago, he is best remembered as the King of the Britons who invaded and conquered the Kingdom of Northumbria, defeating and killing its king, Edwin, prior to his own death in battle against Oswald of Bernicia. His conquest of Northumbria, which he held for a year or two after Edwin died, made him the last Briton to hold substantial territory in eastern Britain until the rise of the House of Tudor. He thereafter was remembered as a national hero by the Britons and as a tyrant by the Anglo-Saxons of Northumbria. As with other figures of the era little is certainly known of Cadwallon's early life or reign. The primary source of information about him is the "Ecclesiastical History of the English People," by the Anglo-Saxon writer Bede, who is strongly critical of him. Cadwallon consistently appears in the genealogies of the Kings of Gwynedd as the son of Cadfan ap Iago and a descendant of Maelgwn Gwynedd and Cunedda. Historian Alex Woolf, however, presents the case that the genealogists have erroneously inserted Bede's Cadwallon into the pedigree of the unrelated Kings of Gwynedd as son of Cadfan. Instead, Woolf suggests that Bede's Cadwallon was the "Catguallaun liu" found in genealogies as son of "Guitcun" and grandson of Sawyl Penuchel, rulers in the "Hen Ogledd" or Brythonic-speaking area of northern Britain. Whatever the case may be, Cadwallon certainly was affected by the ambitions of Edwin, King of Northumbria. Bede, writing about a century after Cadwallon's death, describes Edwin, the most powerful king in Britain, conquering the Brittonic kingdom of Elmet (what is now western Yorkshire) and ejecting its king, Cerdic. This opened the door to the Irish Sea, and Edwin successfully extended his rule to the "Mevanian Islands" – the Isle of Man and Anglesey. The "Annales Cambriae" say that Cadwallon was besieged at Glannauc (now Puffin Island, a small island off eastern Anglesey), and dates this to 629. Surviving Welsh poetry and the Welsh Triads portray Cadwallon as a heroic leader against Edwin. They refer to a battle at Digoll (Long Mountain) and mention that Cadwallon spent time in Ireland before returning to Britain to defeat Edwin. According to Geoffrey of Monmouth's "Historia Regum Britanniae" (which includes a fairly extensive account of Cadwallon's life but is largely legendary—for example, Geoffrey has Cadwallon surviving until after the Battle of the Winwaed in 654 or 655), Cadwallon went to Ireland and then to the island of Guernsey. From there, according to Geoffrey, Cadwallon led an army into Dumnonia, where he encountered and defeated the Mercians besieging Exeter, and forced their king, Penda of Mercia, into an alliance. Geoffrey also reports that Cadwallon married a half-sister of Penda. However, his history is, on this as well as all matters, suspect, and it should be treated with caution. In any case, Penda and Cadwallon together made war against the Northumbrians. The Battle of Hatfield Chase on 12 October 633 ended in the defeat and death of Edwin and his son Osfrith. After this, the Kingdom of Northumbria fell into disarray, divided between its sub-kingdoms of Deira and Bernicia, but the war continued: according to the "Anglo-Saxon Chronicle," "Cadwallon and Penda went and did for the whole land of Northumbria." Bede says that Cadwallon was besieged by the new king of Deira, Osric, "in a strong town"; Cadwallon, however, "sallied out on a sudden with all his forces, by surprise, and destroyed him [Osric] and all his army." After this, according to Bede, Cadwallon ruled over the "provinces of the Northumbrians" for a year, "not like a victorious king, but like a rapacious and bloody tyrant." Furthermore, Bede tells us that Cadwallon, "though he bore the name and professed himself a Christian, was so barbarous in his disposition and behaviour, that he neither spared the female sex, nor the innocent age of children, but with savage cruelty put them to tormenting deaths, ravaging all their country for a long time, and resolving to cut off all the race of the English within the borders of Britain." Bede's extremely negative portrayal of Cadwallon as a genocidal tyrant cannot be taken at face value. Cadwallon's alliance with the Anglo-Saxon Penda undermines Bede's assertion that Cadwallon had attempted to exterminate the English. Additionally, the fact that Cædwalla of Wessex a generation after Cadwallon's death bore a name derived directly from the British "Cadwallon" suggests that Cadwallon's reputation could not have been so poor among the Saxons of Wessex as it was in Northumbria. The new king of Bernicia, Eanfrith, also was killed by Cadwallon when the former went to him in an attempt to negotiate peace. However, Cadwallon was defeated by an army under Eanfrith's brother, Oswald, at the Battle of Heavenfield, "though he had most numerous forces, which he boasted nothing could withstand." Cadwallon was killed at a place called "Denis'-brook." -- Wikiwand: Cadwallon ap Cadfan

He succeeded his father in 664 as IDWAL "Iwrch" King of Gwynedd. The Annales Cambriæ name "Ivor filius Cadwallader" in 734[6]. ** from http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/WALES.htm#Cadwallondied633 IVOR (-[Rome 20 May 689]). The Annales Menevensis record that "Cadwalladrus rex Britanniæ" sent "Ivor filium suum" with 12 ships "ad regendas Britonum reliquias" in 689, and that he died in Rome "XII Kal Mai" in 689[31]. The dating of this event, if it did take place, is inconsistent with the date of King Cadwaladr´s death as recorded in the Annales Cambriæ (see above).] ** from British Kings and Queens (Mike Ashley) p 147 Idwal Iwrch (Roebuck) ap Cadwaladr Gwynedd, c682-c720. After the death of Cadwaladr the history of the Welsh ruling houses enters a dark period for over a century until the emergence of Merfyn Frych and Rhodri the Great. Idwal's nickname, Iwrch or 'roebuck,' suggests that he was probably small and elegant in stature, and almost certainly young when he came to the throne. Like his father, therefore, he was probably not warlike, but preferred to rule wisely and pay countenance to the church. Nevertheless it is evident that during Idwal's reign the Welsh sought to protect their lands from the encroaching power of Mercia to the east. Powys was more vulnerable, and their rulers were weaker, so in the early years of the eighth century (probably between 704 and 709), Idwal would have joined when the opportunity offered in a series of raids on Mercian territory during the comparatively weak reign of Coenred. The result was the construction by the Mercians, of Wat's Dyke, which ran from the southern end of the Dee estuary down towards Oswestry. This formed a line of demarcation between Mercian and Welsh territory and was not ostensibly intended as a defence. Idwal may not have lived to see the completion of the Dyke. He was succeeded by his son Rhodri Molwynog. ** from Wikipedia listing for Idwal Roebuck Idwal ap Cadwaladr (c. 650-720; reigned from c. 682) (Latin: Ituvellus; English: Judwald), also known as Idwal Iwrch ('Roebuck'), was a king of Gwynedd. Following the death of Idwal's father, Cadwaladr Fendigaid, the history of Gwynedd enters into a somewhat hazy period. His nickname of 'Roebuck' suggests a young man of small stature, and the historical record indicates that he was probably not involved in any major, prolonged conflicts with neighboring kingdoms, focusing instead on the domestic situation of Gwynedd. Nonetheless, it was during the time of Idwal's reign that the nearby kingdom of Mercia to the west was growing in power and influence. Idwal may have been involved in a series of raids on Mercian territory carried out by the neighboring Welsh kingdom of Powys during the reign of the Mercian king Coenred. These raids, if they did indeed occur, and if Gwynedd was indeed involved, seem to have been relatively isolated, and did not result in any sort of more organized conflict.

- LifeSketch: Wikipedia Cadwaladr ap Cadwallon was King of Gwynedd in Wales from around 655 to 682 AD. Two devastating plagues happened during his reign, one in 664 and the other in 682; he himself was a victim of the second. Little else is known of his reign. The red dragon (Welsh: "Y Ddraig Goch") has long been known as a Welsh symbol, appearing in the "Mabinogion," the "Historia Brittonum," and the stories of Geoffrey of Monmouth. Since the accession of Henry VII to the English throne, it often has been referred to as "The Red Dragon of Cadwaladr." The association with Cadwaladr is a traditional one, without a firm historical provenance. Cadwaladr's name appears as "Catgualart" in a section of the "Historia Brittonum," where it says he died of a dreadful mortality while he was king. The great plague of 664 is not noted in the "Annales Cambriae," but Bede's description makes clear its impact in both Britain and Ireland, where its occurrence also is noted in the "Irish Annals." The plague of 682 is not noted by Bede, but the "Annales Cambriae" note its occurrence in Britain and that Cadwaladr was one of its victims. Both the "Annales Cambriae" and the "Irish Annals" note the plague's impact in Ireland in 683, as do other sources. The genealogies in Jesus College MS. 20 and the Harleian genealogies give Cadwaladr as the son of Cadwallon and the father of Idwal Iwrch. Idwal, who fathered the later king Rhodri Molwynog, was his successor. There is a lot of fiction in this article which should not be confused with the facts. Cadwaladwr should not be confused with Caedwalla of Wessex, who died in Rome after being baptized. - They were contemporaries who were often conflated.

His brother Linus the Martyr, his sister Claudia and her husband Rufus Pudens aided the Apostle Paul in the Christian Church in Rome, as recorded in: II Timothy 4:21 and Romans 16:13 (Rufus Pudens and St. Paul are shown to be half-brothers, with the same mother but different fathers. "His mother and mine." She thus appears to have been the mother of an elder son, Paul, by a Hebrew husband, and a younger son, Rufus, by a second marriage with a Roman Christian.) "He first of the Cymry gave infants names, for before names were not given except to adults, and then from something characteristic in their bodies, minds, or manners." - notes or source: ancestry.com & HBJ http://www.mathematical.com/caradoccyllin100.html Saint Cyllin was a legendary, and possibly historical British king of the 1st century AD, early Christian saint and the last pendragon of Great Britain. His existence is based on very limited evidence.[1] Richard Williams Morgan claimed that a reference to him as a son of Caratacus was found in the family records of Iestyn ab Gwrgant and used this as evidence of early entry of Christianity to Britain; "Cyllin ab Caradog, a wise and just king. In his days many of the Cymry embraced the faith in Christ through the teaching of the saints of Cor-Eurgain, and many godly men from the countries of Greece and Rome were in Cambria. He first of the Cymry gave infants names; for before, names were not given except to adults, and then from something characteristic in their bodies, minds, or manners."[2] Reference to Saint Cyllin is also given in Iolo Morganwg's "Third series" of forged Welsh Triads.[3] He is also discussed in the works of Rice Rees, Jane Williams, Sabine Baring-Gould and John Williams (Ab Ithel) as brother of Saint Eigen and father of King Coel.[4][5][6][7] He is also noted in a manuscript giving the genealogy of Taliesin from the collection of Thomas Hopkin of Coychurch along with one from the Havod Uchtryd collection where he is called Cynan, a name often associated with Conan Meriadoc.[8] *from Wikipedia*

He is also noted in a manuscript giving the genealogy of Taliesin from the collection of Thomas Hopkin of Coychurch along with one from the Havod Uchtryd collection where he is called Cynan, a name often associated with Conan Meriadoc. «b»Biography«/b» Saint Cyllin was a legendary, and possibly historical British king of the 1st century AD, early Christian saint and the last pendragon of Great Britain. His existence is based on very limited evidence. «b»Outline of Cyllin's Legend Name and Time«/b» "Cyllin was the son of Caradawg ap Bran, a saint who flourished at the close of the first century. No church in Wales Bears his name." Cyllinus was one of two brothers of Claudia, daughter of Caradoc, the son of Bran. Cyllinus was the eldest son of Caradoc ap Bran. «b»Family Connections«/b» Medieval Welsh sources created elaborate and largely fictitious genealogies that incorporated various historical figures. The father of the figure represented in this profile, Caractacus, was authentically known from Roman sources, but the present representation is highly fictionalized. The dates are, of course, speculations that are not given in the primary sources. Bran the Blessed. According to these forgeries, Bran the Blessed was the son of Llyr Llediaith, the first of the race of the Cymry who was converted to the faith in Christ ; and his family is the most ancient of the Holy Families of the Island of Britain, and his church is in Llandaff. Arwystli Hen, a man from Italy; he came with Bran, the son of Llyr, to the Island of Britain to teach the Christian faith. Saint Ilid, a man of Israel, who came with Bran, the son of Llyr, from Rome to teach the Christian faith to the race of the Cymry. Eigen, the daughter of Caradoc, the son of Bran, the son of Llyr Llediaith, wife of Sallwg, lord of Garth Mathrin. Saint Lleurwg, called Lleuver Mawr [the great luminary], the son of Coel, the son of Cyllin, the son of Caradoc, the son of Bran, the son of Llyr Llediaith, sent to Pope Eleutherius to request bishops to confer baptism on those of the race of the Cymry who should believe in Christ. Saint Gwerydd, the son of Cadwn, the son of Cenau, the son of Eudav, of the family of Bran the Blessed, the son of Llyr Llediaith. His church is Llanwerydd, the same as Saint Dunawd. Saint Gwynno, of the family of Bran the Blessed. «b»Cyllin's father and grandfather:«/b» Caradoc ap Bran. Reigned in Cambria after his father. "His residence was the site of the present Dunraven Castle, in the centre of his dominions Siluria. Whgen taken prisoner to Rome he was preserved from the criminal's fate by the admiration which he excited; he was permitted to reside seven years in free custody in Rome, his aged father Bran, and the whole Royal Family being retained as hostages. HIs residence was the palace on the declivity of the Mons Sacra, converted by his grand-daughter Pudentiana into the first christian church in Rome, now known as "Saint Pudentiana." «b»Cyllin's Mother«/b» Other legends give Cyllin's mother as Anna Arimathea, daughter of Joseph of Arimathea. Anna was married to Caradog ap Bran, said to be born in the year 35, in Glamorganshire, England. «b»Cyllin's Siblings:«/b» 1.) Claudia (Gladys) Claudia (Gladys) married Rufus Pudens, a Roman Patrician, who filled high civil and military positions in Britain. He was converted to Christianity by his wife. Rufus is named in the epistle of St. Paul to the Romans. (Romans 16:13) Rufus in turn baptized Bran, Caractacus, and the other members of the Silurian Royal Family. 2.) Eigen 3.) Cyllinus 4.) Linus, was ordained by Saint Paul as the first Bishop of Rome «b»Cyllin's Children:«/b» 1.) Cyllinus was the father of Coel, who flourished in the year 120. «b»Travels 59 and 60«/b» In 59, Aristobulus, brother to Barnabas, and father-in-law to S. Peter, was ordained by S. Paul, first Bishop of the Britons, and left Rome with Bran, Caractacus, and the Royal Family; Bran, on account of this second phase in the introduction of christianity into Britain, is known as one of the benefactorsw of the island, and the epithet of the Blessed given him. In 60, S. Paul visited Caradoc, and returned to the continent, after some months, with Claudia, Pudens, and Linus. "In 67, on the evening preceding his execution, he (S. Paul) wrote his farewell epistle to Timothy; the only salutations are from the British family, Pudens, Linus, Eubulus, and Claudia, who thus, through God's grace, ministered to the sorrows of the founder of the Gentile church." «b»Birth Year Estimation«/b» Basing the calculation on the impression that Cyllin would have been a member of the "Royal Family" in 59, assume Cyllin's reputed birth prior to that; if he was born in the year 50 he would have been aged 9, a suitable age for the trip and for remaining behind in Britain in the year 60. Some legendary sources place Cyllin's birth in Trevan, Llanilid, Glamorganshire; based on the legendary narrative, it would be either in Siluria or Rome. «b»Death«/b» Cyllinus died in Britain. «b»1801 Iolo Morganwg Fraud«/b» Reference to Saint Cyllin is also given in Iolo Morganwg's "Third series" of forged Welsh Triads. «b»1836 Other References«/b» Cyllin is also discussed in the works of Rice Rees, Jane Williams, Sabine Baring-Gould and John Williams (Ab Ithel) as brother of Saint Eigen and father of King Coel. «b»1849 Mabinogion«/b» Cyllin is also noted in a manuscript giving the genealogy of Taliesin from the collection of Thomas Hopkin of Coychurch along with one from the Havod Uchtryd collection where he is called Cynan, a name often associated with Conan Meriadoc. «b»1861 Richard Williams Morgan«/b» Richard Williams Morgan claimed that a reference to him as a son of Caratacus was found in the family records of Iestyn ab Gwrgant and used this as evidence of early entry of Christianity to Britain; "Cyllin ab Caradog, a wise and just king. In his days many of the Cymry embraced the faith in Christ through the teaching of the saints of Cor-Eurgain, and many godly men from the countries of Greece and Rome were in Cambria. - LifeSketch: Rhyddfedd ap Categern ( 435-?) Also nicknamed Rhyddfedd Frych (Freckles) was a king of Powys (East Wales ). Almost everything about Rhyddfedd is unknown, including his genealogy, the date on which he ascended the throne, the length of his reign and the date of his death. Rhyddfedd has indeed lived in a rather troubled period in Britain's history of which there are very few archives ( Dark Ages ). His name is often remembered as "son of Categern" because it is believed to be the second son of Categern, aka Cadeyrn the Blessed (and therefore Cadell's brother , his predecessor on the throne of Powys) but this fact is little attested. It is probable that he took the interim for about twenty years until the legitimate heir, his nephew, Cyngen the Renown, reached his majority, but it is unclear under what conditions he took, usa and passed the power. One of the early friars of Powys was Frog Loaf (435-?), Sometimes known as Rhyddfedd ap Categern. As with many early kings of Powys, very little information is available. He may be the son of Blessed Lord, and brother of Cadell Ddyrnwgwg, who was on the throne of Powys ahead of him. He was succeeded by his son, Cyngen Glodrydd.

- LifeSketch: Mor ap Ceneu ( Marius in Latin and Mario in English, born around 420 ), (c. 420-40), son of Ceneu, king of northern Britain, inherited from his father the central part of the kingdom, which was around the capital Ebrauc. He was the last ruler of the great kingdom of northern Britain, also called Grande Ebrauc. At his death the kingdom was divided between the sons Arthuis, who had the Pennines, and Einion, to whom Ebrauc went; the latter was the father of Rhun Ryfedd Fawrand grandfather of Princess Perfawr, wife of Rhun Hir of Gwynedd. «b»Biography«/b» Mor inherited the central and southern areas of Northern Britain around the old capital of Ebrauc (York) from his father, King Ceneu of the North, around the mid to late 5th century. Upon his own death, his vast kingdom was inherited by his son, Arthuis. A second son, Einion, became the father of Rhun Ryfedd Fawr and grandfather of Princess Perfawr, wife of King Rhun Hir of Gwynedd. «b»Excerpt from Celtic Kingdoms of the British Isles, Celts of Britain«/b» «b»505 «/b»Upon the death of Einion ap Mor, king of Ebrauc (York), his younger son, Ceido, inherits the western portion of the domain, gaining the remnants of the former Selgovae tribal territory. «b»c.505 - c.550«/b» Ceidio ap Einion Son of Einion ap Mor of Ebrauc. 'King North of the Salway'. «b»547«/b» To the east, the British kingdom of Bernaccia is seized by the Angles who have been serving as laeti and the ruling king, Morgan Bulc is forced out. He takes refuge with the Goutodin, shifting his power base there, but the loss leaves Caer-Guendoleu's border exposed to the invaders. Fortunately they remain relatively weak for some decades to come.

\-Unknown Spouse of Clydog ap ARTHLWYS
- Father: Clydog AP ARTHLWYS de Ceredigion
- Mother: Unknown Spouse of Clydog ap ARTHLWYS
- Birth: 692, Ceredigion, Wales
- LifeSketch: Seisyll ap Clydog was King of Ceredigion in Wales some time in the late 7th or early 8th century. He gave his name to the later kingdom of Seisyllwg, which consisted of Ceredigion plus the region known as Ystrad Tywi; as such he was possibly the king responsible for the expansion. However, there is no contemporary evidence of this, and almost nothing is known of his life or reign. Seisyll appears in the Harleian genealogies for the kings of Ceredigion.[1] Here, he is named as the son of Clydog or Clitauc Artgloys, and is the sixth in descent from Ceredig, the traditional founder of Ceredigion. The Harleian also names him as the father of Arthgen, presumably the King of Ceredigion whom the Annales Cambriae record as dying in 807.[2] Seisyll's name appears to derive from the notional Late Latin *Saxillus, which comes from the same root as the Welsh sais, meaning Saxon or Englishman.[3] Seisyll ap Clydog is generally taken to be the Seisyll for whom Seisyllwg was named.[3] As such, historians such as John Edward Lloyd and Egerton Phillimore believed that he was the king who founded that kingdom.[4] However, contemporary sources continue to use the name Ceredigion for the realm of Seisyll and his successors.[3] As such, "Seisyllwg" may represent a substantially later political development.
