A LOT OF TIME HAS AND IS BEING SPENT ON THIS FAMILY LINE. THANK YOU! Kurzbiografie Fue el sexto rey de la casa de David y el cuarto del Reino de Judá. Ascendió al trono con 35 años y reinó 25 (c 873-c 849 a. C.) Jehoshaphat of the Bible King of Israel/Judah (BC 914-889) Matt. 1:8 _____________________________________________________ Statues of Josaphat and Ezechias on the Monastery of El Escorial.Jehoshaphat (pronounced /dʒəˈhɒʃəˌfæt/, alternately spelled Jehosaphat, Josaphat, or Yehoshafat; Hebrew: יְהוֹשָׁפָט, Modern Yehoshafat Tiberian Yəhôšāp̄āṭ ; " Jehovah has judged"; Greek: Ιωσαφατ; Latin: Josaphat) was the fourth king of the The Kingdom of Judah, and successor of his father Asa. His children included Jehoram, who succeeded him as king. His mother was Azubah. Historically, his name has sometimes been connected with the Valley of Jehosaphat, where, according to Joel 3:2, the God of Israel will gather all nations for judgment. Reign Jehoshaphat took the throne at the age of thirty-five and reigned for twenty-five years. William F. Albright has dated the reign of Jehoshaphat to 873 – 849 BC. E. R. Thiele held that he became coregent with his father Asa in Asa's thirty-ninth year, 872/871 BC, the year Asa was afflicted with a severe disease in his feet, and then became sole regent when Asa died of the disease in 870/869 BC, his own death occurring in 848/847 BC. Thiele's chronology for the first kings of Judah contained an internal inconsistency that later scholars corrected by dating these kings one year earlier, so that Jehoshaphat's dates are taken as one year earlier in the present article: coregency beginning in 873/871, sole reign commencing in 871/870, and death in 849/848 BC. Jehoshaphat spent the first years of his reign fortifying his kingdom against Israel (2 Chronicles 17:1-2). The Bible lauds the king for overcoming sexual corruption (1 Kings 22:47), and for destroying the cult images or "idols" of Baal in the land. In the third year of his reign Jehoshaphat sent out priests and Levites over the land to instruct the people in the Law (2 Chronicles 17:7-9), an activity that was commanded for a Sabbatical year in Deuteronomy 31:10-13. The author of 2 Chronicles generally praises his reign, stating that the kingdom enjoyed a great measure of peace and prosperity, the blessing of God resting on the people "in their basket and their store." Alliances Jehoshaphat also pursued alliances with his contemporaries ruling the northern kingdom, the first being with Ahab, which was based on marriage: Jehoshaphat married his son Jehoram to Athaliah, daughter of Ahab (2 Kings 8:18). This alliance led to much disgrace, and brought disaster on his kingdom (1 Kings 22:1-33) with the Battle of Ramoth-Gilead. While Jehoshaphat safely returned from this battle, he was confronted by the prophet Jehu, son of Hanani, (2 Chronicles 19:1-3) about this alliance. We are told that Jehoshaphat repented, and returned to his former course of opposition to all idolatry, and promoting the worship of God and in the government of his people (2 Chronicles 19:4-11). Again he entered into an alliance with Ahaziah, the king of Israel, for the purpose of carrying on maritime commerce with Ophir. But the fleet that was then equipped at Ezion-Gever was immediately wrecked. A new fleet was fitted out without the cooperation of the king of Israel, and although it was successful, the trade was not prosecuted (2 Chronicles 20:35-37; 1 Kings 22:48-49). He subsequently joined Jehoram, king of Israel, in a war against the Moabites, who were under tribute to Israel. This war was successful. The Moabites were subdued, but seeing Mesha's act of offering his own son in a human sacrifice on the walls of Kir-haresheth filled Jehoshaphat with horror, and he withdrew and returned to his own land The last notable event of his reign occurred when the Moabites formed a great and powerful confederacy with the surrounding nations, and marched against Jehoshaphat (2 Chr. 20). The allied forces were encamped at Ein Gedi. The king and his people were filled with alarm, and betook themselves to God in prayer. The king prayed in the court of the temple, "O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do; but our eyes are upon you." Amid the silence that followed, the voice of Jahaziel the Levite was heard announcing that the next day all this great host would be overthrown. So it was, for they quarreled among themselves, and slew one another, leaving to the people of Judah only to gather the rich spoils of the slain. This was recognized as a great deliverance wrought for them by God. Soon after this victory Jehoshaphat died after a reign of twenty-five years at the age of sixty (1 Kings 22:50). According to some sources (such as the Jewish commentator Rashi) he actually died two years later, but gave up his throne earlier for unknown reasons. Chronological notes The calendars for reckoning the years of kings in Judah and Israel were offset by six months, that of Judah starting in Tishri (in the fall) and that of Israel in Nisan (in the spring). Cross-synchronizations between the two kingdoms therefore often allow narrowing of the beginning and/or ending dates of a king to within a six-month range. For Jehoshaphat, the Scriptural data allow the narrowing of the beginning of his sole reign to some time between Tishri 1 of 871 BC and the day before Nisan 1 of the 870 BC. For calculation purposes, this should be taken as the Judean year beginning in Tishri of 871/870 BC, or more simply 871 BC. His death occurred at some time between Nisan 1 of 848 BC and Tishri 1 of that same BC year, i.e. in the Judean regnal year 849/848 BC, which for calculation purposes can be taken as 849 BC. These dates are one year earlier than those given in the third edition of Thiele's Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings, thereby correcting an internal consistency that Thiele never resolved, as explained in the Rehoboam article. Popular culture The king's name in the oath jumping Jehosaphat was likely popularized by the name's utility as a euphemism for Jesus and Jehovah. The phrase is first recorded in the 1866 novel The Headless Horseman by Thomas Mayne Reid. The longer version "By the shaking, jumping ghost of Jehosaphat" is seen in the 1865 novel Paul Peabody by Percy Bolingbroke St. John. Another theory is that the reference is to Joel 3:11-12, where the prophet Joel says, speaking of the judgment of the dead: 11Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. 12Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about Jehosaphat is one of the "mighty ones" who has come down to judge the wakened heathens (or he is one of the wakened himself, thus, a "ghost".) In the Looney Tunes cartoon short, Yankee Dood It, uttering "Jehoshaphat" turns elves into mice, while uttering "Rumpelstiltskin" restores them. Wikipedia: Solomon and שלמה Jewish-Encyclopedia - Solomon Islamic view of Solomon King Solomon is a name that conjures extraordinary images out of history and legend: A glittering court known throughout the world. A thousand harem princesses. Idolatry. A gift of divine wisdom. Demonic possession. And above all, the magnificence of the Holy City’s First Temple. From the bloody birth of King David’s wars came a golden age in Jerusalem, with a glory and mystery that would never be repeated. Thousands of years after King Solomon’s reign, tales still endure of the splendor of Solomon’s court in Jerusalem, his wisdom, and the lush indulgence of his lifestyle, which included a vast harem of foreign princesses. Solomon’s crowning achievement was the construction of the First Temple in Jerusalem, which would create a deep impact on the kingdom for centuries to come. The towering majesty of the Temple elevated Jerusalem to the status of a Holy City. Solomon boasted a vast army of 1,400 chariots, the most advanced military technology of the period. His father David, a war hero from the first, had conquered substantial lands of the Philistine and Edomite peoples, and it was Solomon who reaped the rewards. He married the Pharaoh’s daughter, cementing an alliance with the powerful Egyptian kingdom. Solomon’s reign is shrouded in many mysterious legends which feature him communing with demons, performing magic, and even being imprisoned by a demonic spell. His servant Benayahu son of Yehoyada is said to have carried out quests for him which involved magical beings. The most famous of Benayahu’s adventures is his fabled quest for the Shamir, a worm that could eat through stone. Legend tells of Solomon’s unwillingness to use knives to cut the stones that would build the First Temple. No warlike tools, he believed, should be used to erect a symbol of peace. According to legend, Solomon’s wisdom was a divine gift—a gift so powerful that he could understand the speech of animals. God, it is said, asked Solomon what he most desired, and Solomon’s request was for the ability to govern wisely. Thus people came far and wide to Jerusalem for Solomon’s celebrated wit in adjudicating court cases. The Queen of Sheba, in admiration of Solomon’s wisdom, came bearing gifts of gold and her allegiance. But perhaps the most powerful legend of King Solomon is that at the end of his reign, he was possessed by the demon prince Asmodai. The First Temple was to exert a deep influence on the future development of religion in Judea. But Solomon still built shrines to other gods, and the heavy burden of taxation that he imposed upon Israel tore the kingdom apart after his death. Solomon is therefore judged a failure in the Scriptural texts, but a magnificent failure: like a meteor rising high, aflame with power and light, only to fall with a devastating crash to earth. Solomon’s kingdom, which ended in blood, also began in blood. David’s illicit cohabitation with Solomon’s mother, Bathsheba, started it all; and before Solomon was to become king, he would first be tested in a raging gauntlet of family intrigues and murder. Chronology The conventional dates of Solomon's reign are derived from biblical chronology and are set from c. 970 to 931 BCE.[11] Regarding the Davidic dynasty, to which King Solomon belongs, its chronology can be checked against datable Babylonian and Assyrian records at a few points, and these correspondences have allowed archaeologists to date its kings in a modern framework.[citation needed][dubious – discuss] According to the most widely used chronology, based on that by Old Testament professor Edwin R. Thiele, the death of Solomon and the division of his kingdom would have occurred in the spring of 931 BCE.[12] Childhood Solomon was born in Jerusalem,[13] the second born child of David and his wife Bathsheba, widow of Uriah the Hittite. The first child (unnamed in that account), a son conceived adulterously during Uriah's lifetime, had died as a punishment on account of the death of Uriah by David's order. Solomon had three named full brothers born to Bathsheba: Nathan, Shammua, and Shobab,[14] besides six known older half-brothers born of as many mothers.[15] The biblical narrative shows that Solomon served as a peace offering between God and David, due to his adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. In an effort to hide this sin, for example, he sent the woman's husband to battle, hoping that he would be killed there. After he died, David was finally able to marry his wife. As punishment, the first child, who was conceived during the adulterous relationship, died.[16] Solomon was born after David was forgiven. It is this reason why his name, which means peace, was chosen. Some historians cited that Nathan the Prophet brought up Solomon as his father was busy governing the realm.[17] This could also be attributed to the notion that the prophet held great influence over David because he knew of his adultery, which was considered a grievous offense under the Mosaic Law.[18] It was only during Absalom's rebellion that Solomon started spending more time at David's side.

- LifeSketch: The Gospel of Matthew and Gospel of Luke present an apparent problem by giving two genealogies for Jesus. (Matthew 1:7-16, Luke 3:23-31). Julius Africanus (about 160-about 240) attributed the difference to the custom of levirate marrige, under which a man was obliged to marry his brother's widow if the brother had died without children. According to Julius Africanius, the apparent problem can be explained in two stages. First, a woman named Estha married Matthan, a descendant of David through Solomon, and became the mother of Jacob. After Mathan's death she married Mathat, a descendant of David through Nathan, and became the mother of Heli. Jacob and Heli were, therefore, uterine brothers. Secondly, Heli married, but died without offspring. His widow, therefore, became the levirate wife of Jacob, and gave birth to Joseph, who was the carnal son of Jacob, but the legal son of Heli, thus combining in his person two lineages of David's descendants. This was the solution adopted by Saint Augustine. David Hughes in Davidic Dynasty gives the name Hazibah to the wife of Matthan, but she seems to be a modern invention. https://www.geni.com/people/Esthra-Estha/6000000004089124881?through=6000000007456718938 ________________________________________________ Heli (Miriam´s father) was the son of the future Maccabee Queen Alexandra II, who at this time was known by her Jewish name, Esther of Jerusalem. Heli, the shortened nickname for Helios (“The Sun”), was a descendant of both the Maccabee Kings of Judea and a prince of the House of David, for his father was Matthan ben Levi, a Davidian Prince who was first married in his youth to the vivacious royal princess, Elizabeth of Jerusalem.

- LifeSketch: Joseph, son of Heli, was born before April 21BC, but not to much earlier, as he was age 20 or older at time Jesus was born 6 Apr 1BC because he paid "To be taxed..." his temple tax. https://www.gotquestions.org/temple-tax.html He was probably born in Nazareth, as Luke 2:41,44 shows a family tradition of going back and froth from Nazareth to Jerusalem for Passover. He was living in Nazareth when he espoused Mary, probably not any earlier then summer 2BC, as most espousal's last about a year. Due to the usual circumstance of Mary's conception of Jesus, the espousal period was extend until Mary gave birth to Jesus. This would have helped ensure he "...knew her not till....". He was in Nazareth when he was informed in a dream June 2BC to keep Mary. Joseph was also living in Nazareth when the 5 Feb 2BC decree was being conducted "in those days" (of John's birth) there in the Fall of 2BC where he was registered. Luke 2:3,39 Shortly (6 months) after this, Joseph ALSO (Luke 2:4) went to Bethlehem to attended Passover with the rest of the family (Luke 2:41,44) Passover attracts 2.7 million attendees. Crowding the Inns. It's also the lambing season with shepherds out all night watching their flocks. Joseph also paid/registered his temple tax. Jesus was born 6 April 1BC. Probably assisted by mid-wife(s) in their company. After Jesus's birth, circumcision, Mary's purification and Jesus's presentation to the Lord in the temple, they returned to their own city of Nazareth after 16 May 1BC Sometime after Jesus's birth, Joseph and Mary were finally married. Probably after their 40 day stay in Bethlehem, shortly after their return to Nazareth. About 25 Dec 1BC, wise men appear at Joseph's house in Nazareth and worshipped and gifted Jesus. That night, Joseph was warned by an angel in a dream to flee to Egypt. They depart that very night. King Herod https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/M4QK-LW1 Later in Egypt, Joseph received another visit in dream and was instructed to return home to Nazareth Galilee. Apparently he was aware of the atrocities taking place under the new King Archelaus (G747-9BC) re the 3,000 killed on temple grounds cancelling the 27 Mar 1AD Passover, so he avoided Judea on his way back to Nazareth. Joseph and Mary had 4 sons named in scripture, and possible 3 daughters. Joseph and extended family attended Passover every year, in 12 AD, Jesus stayed behind and after a days journey, Joseph and Mary leaving children behind with family company, rushed back to Jerusalem to locate their lost Jesus. After 3 days, they found him and returned to Nazareth. Joseph is believed to have died between 12AD and 29 AD, as he is never mentioned again in scripture. Many place his death about 18AD. That Mary was a widow with 8 children, is reason Jesus had so much to say about widows and fatherless. It appears as Joseph's eldest (step) son, that Jesus was the patriarch of the family. And that he turned the reins over to his brother James (GHSC-G8T) at the cross.

- LifeSketch: King Manasseh, was twelve years old when he became king and then reigned fifty- five years in the mid 600’s BC, in Jerusalem. (2Chr 33:1&18-20.) He did much EVIL in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger (2Chr 33:6). (2 Kg.21:10-18) explains Manasseh’s forthcomings. After the Assyrian invasion of Judah in 701 BCE, the long siege and capture of the strongly fortified town of Lachish and massacre of its inhabitants, followed by the siege of Jerusalem, King Menasseh of Judah "reverted to the policy of loyal [sic] submission to Assyrian suzerainty," as did also his successor and son King Amon of Judah. "This brought 50 years of undisturbed peace to Judah." "On the other hand, however, it also increased Assyrian cultural influence, which was felt by conservative elements to endanger religious values and the traditional way of life." Another source states that Menasseh permitted also Baal worship, or even "re-introduced" it. - Also known as: "Pedaya"
- LifeSketch: 18th King of Judah Some sources list Neri as the grandfather of "Zorababel SON of Salathiel", and through Zorababel's son Rhesa, trace the lineage of Jesus. The Jewish bible has Zorababel ( Zerubbabel 3rd Exilarch / זרובבל ) as the GRANDSON of Salathiel, who is son of King of Judah, Jechoniah ( Jechoniah Yehoyakhin King of Judah ). So look there for this line. Neri another name for Jehoiakim Elyakim. Phaladä (Pedaya) is the half-brother of Scheathiel, son of Jeconias. He is not cited as part of the genealogy in the Gospel of St Mathieu that attributes the paternity of his son Zorobabel to the brother Scheathiel, which seems to be explained by the law of the Levirate after the childless death of the elder Scheathiel.

- LifeSketch: Jeconiah (Hebrew: יְכָנְיָה Yekonya [jəxɔnjaː], meaning "Yah has established"; Greek: Ιεχονιας; Latin: Iechonias, Jechonias), also known as Coniah and as Jehoiachin (Hebrew: יְהֹויָכִין [jəhoːjaːˈxiːn]; Latin: Ioachin, Joachin), was the nineteenth and penultimate king of Judah who was dethroned by the King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar II in the 6th century BCE and was taken into captivity. He was the son and successor of King Jehoiakim, and the grandson of King Josiah. Most of what is known about Jeconiah is found in the Hebrew Bible. Records of Jeconiah's existence have been found in Iraq, such as the Jehoiachin's Rations Tablets. These tablets were excavated near the Ishtar Gate in Babylon and have been dated to c. 592 BCE. Written in cuneiform, they mention Jeconiah (Akkadian: 𒅀𒀪𒌑𒆠𒉡, "Ia-'-ú-kinu") and his five sons as recipients of food rations in Babylon Jeconiah in scripture Reign Jeconiah reigned three months and ten days, beginning December 9, 598 BCE. He succeeded Jehoiakim as king of Judah after raiders from surrounding lands invaded Jerusalem and killed his father. It is likely that the king of Babylon was behind this effort, as a response to Jehoiakim's revolt, starting sometime after 601 BCE. Three months and ten days after Jeconiah became king, the armies of Nebuchadnezzar II seized Jerusalem. The intention was to take high class Judahite captives and assimilate them into Babylonian society. On March 15/16th, 597 BCE, Jeconiah, his entire household and three thousand Jews were exiled to Babylon.:217 The Masoretic Text of 2 Chronicles states that Jeconiah's rule began at the age of eight, while in 2 Kings 24:8 Jeconiah is said to have come to the throne at eighteen. Modern scholars have treated the difference between "eight" and "eighteen" as reflecting a copying error on one side or the other of the question. During exile After Jeconiah was deposed as king, Jeconiah's uncle, Zedekiah,[2Ki.24:17] was appointed by Nebuchadnezzar to rule Judah. Zedekiah was the son of Josiah. Jeconiah would later be regarded as the first of the exilarchs. In the Book of Ezekiel, the author refers to Jeconiah as king and dates certain events by the number of years he was in exile. The author identifies himself as Ezekiel, a contemporary of Jeconiah, and he never mentions Zedekiah by name. Clay tablet. The Akkadian cuneiform inscription lists certain rations and mentions the name of Jeconiah (Jehoiachin), King of Judah, and the Babylonian captivity. From Babylon, Iraq, c. 580 BCE. Release from captivity According to 2 Kings 25:27–30, Jeconiah was released from prison "in the 37th year of the exile", in the year that Amel-Marduk (Evil-Merodach) came to the throne, and given a prestigious position at court. Jeconiah's release in Babylon brings to a close the Books of Kings and the Deuteronomistic history. Babylonian records show that Amel-Marduk began his reign in October 562 BCE. According to 2 Kings 25:27, Jeconiah was released from prison "on the 27th day of the twelfth month": this indicates the first year of captivity to be 598/597 BCE, according to Judah's Tishri-based calendar. The 37th year of captivity was thus, by Judean reckoning, the year that began in Tishri of 562, consistent with the synchronism to the accession year of Amel-Marduk given in Babylonian records. Curse Jeremiah (22:28–30) cursed Jeconiah that none of his descendants would ever sit on the throne of Israel: This is what the LORD says: 'Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah. — Jeremiah 22:30, NIV Genealogy Jeconiah was the son of Jehoiakim and Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. C. - 841 a. C.), a los cuarenta años de edad por una enfermedad incurable en los intestinos. __________________________________________________ Jehoram of Judah (Hebrew: יְהֹורָם, Yəhôrām) or Joram (Hebrew: יוֹרָם, Yôrām; Greek: Ιωραμ, translit. Ioram; Latin: Joram),[1] was a king of Judah, and the son of Jehoshaphat. Jehoram took the throne at the age of 32 and reigned for 8 years. (2 Kings 8:17) William F. Albright has dated his reign to 849 – 842 BCE. Edwin Thiele placed a coregency of Jehoram with his father Jehoshaphat, starting in 853/852 BCE, with the beginning of his sole reign occurring in 848/847 and his death in 841/840 BCE.[2] As explained in the Rehoboam article, Thiele's chronology for the first kings of Judah contained an internal inconsistency that later scholars corrected by dating these kings one year earlier, so that Jehoram's dates are taken as one year earlier in the present article: coregency beginning in 854/853, sole reign commencing in 849/848, and death in 842/841 BCE. According to 2 Kings 8:16, Jehoram became king of Judah in the fifth year of Jehoram of Israel, when his father Jehoshaphat was (still) king of Judah, indicating a co-regency. Jehoram took the throne at the age of 32 and reigned for 8 years. To secure his position Jehoram killed his six brothers, who were named as Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azaryahu, Michael, and Shephatiah in 2 Chronicles 21:2. - Occupation: Apostle, BET 44 AND 62
- Stoned to Death: on orders from High Priest Ananus II (son of Ananus ben Seth)
- Half brother of Jesus: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: James the Just, or a variation of James, brother of the Lord (Latin: Iacomus from Hebrew: יעקב Ya'akov and Greek: Ἰάκωβος Iákōbos, can also be Anglicized as "Jacob"), was a brother of Jesus, according to the New Testament. He was an early leader of the Jerusalem Church of the Apostolic Age. He died as a martyr in AD 62 or 69. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox, as well as some Anglicans and Lutherans, teach that James, along with others named in the New Testament as "brothers"[note 1] of Jesus, were not the biological children of Mary, but were possibly cousins of Jesus,[4] or half-brothers from a previous marriage of Joseph (as related in the Gospel of James). Roman tradition holds that this James is to be identified with James, son of Alphaeus, and James the Less. It is agreed by most that he should not be confused with James, son of Zebedee Accordingly, the scribes and Pharisees ... threw down the just man... [and] began to stone him: for he was not killed by the fall; but he turned, and kneeled down, and said: "I beseech thee, Lord God our Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." And, while they were there, stoning him to death, one of the priests, the sons of Rechab, the son of Rechabim, to whom testimony is borne by Jeremiah the prophet, began to cry aloud, saying: "Cease, what do ye? The just man is praying for us." But one among them, one of the fullers, took the staff with which he was accustomed to wring out the garments he dyed, and hurled it at the head of the just man. And so he suffered martyrdom; and they buried him on the spot, and the pillar erected to his memory still remains, close by the temple. This man was a true witness to both Jews and Greeks that Jesus is the Christ. And shortly after Vespasian besieged Judaea, taking them captive. — Fragments from the Acts of the Church; Concerning the Martyrdom of James, the Brother of the Lord, from Book 5. __________________________________________________ A more compelling reason for believing that these are Mary’s children is that Joseph’s firstborn son from his first wife would have been the heir to the Davidic throne instead of Jesus. Son of Joseph and Mary, and half brother of Jesus. (Mark 6:3; Matt 13:55–56) He was an apostle (Gal 1:19; 1 Cor. 15:7). He was also known as James the Just. It was evidently this James who was an overseer of the Christian congregation at Jerusalem (Acts 12:17), and who wrote the Bible book bearing his name. (James 1:1) He may have been next to Jesus in age, being the first named of Mary’s four natural-born sons: James, and Joses, and Juda, and Simon (Mark 6:3; Matt 13:55). Paul implies in his letter to the Corinthians, written about the year 55 C.E., that James was married (1 Cor 9:5). https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/mark/6.3?lang=eng&clang=eng#p3 Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? (Matthew 13:55, ESV) A minority of (Alexandrian, Western) Greek manuscripts in Matthew 13:55 read "Joseph" (Ἰωσήφ) the standard spelling of the name. - Father: Joseph BEN HELI of Nazareth
- Mother: Mary BAT JOSEPH BEN JACOB of Nazareth

- Also known as: Jude
- Half brother of Jesus: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Jude (alternatively Judas or Judah) is one of the brothers of Jesus (Greek: ἀδελφοί, romanized: adelphoi, lit. 'brethren') according to the New Testament. He is traditionally identified as the author of the Epistle of Jude, a short epistle which is reckoned among the seven general epistles of the New Testament—placed after Paul's epistles and before the Book of Revelation—and considered canonical by Christians. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians believe this Jude is the same person as Jude the Apostle and that Jude was perhaps a cousin, but not literally a brother of Jesus, or perhaps St. Joseph’s son from a previous marriage. ___________________________________________________ A more compelling reason for believing that these are Mary’s children is that Joseph’s firstborn son from his first wife would have been the heir to the Davidic throne instead of Jesus. One of Jesus’ four half brothers (Matt 13:55; Mark 6:3). Evidently he was with his three brothers and his mother Mary early in Jesus’ ministry when, at Cana, Jesus performed a miracle, and he later traveled with Jesus and his disciples to Capernaum for a short stay (John 2:1-12). Well over a year later he apparently accompanied Mary and his brothers when they sought out Jesus (Matt 12:46). Nonetheless, in 32 CE Jesus’ brothers, including Judas, were “not exercising faith in him” (John 7:5). Shortly before dying, Jesus turned his believing mother over to the care of the apostle John, strongly suggesting that neither Judas nor his brothers had yet become disciples (John 19:26, 27). Perhaps it was the resurrection of Christ that helped convince Judas, though, because he was among the apostles and others who, between the time of Jesus’ ascension and the day of Pentecost 33 CE met together and persisted in prayer. (Acts 1:13-15) Logically, then, Judas would have been among the believers who first received holy spirit. Evidently Judas is the same as the Jude who, about 65 CE wrote the Bible book by that name. Hegesippus, a 2nd-century Christian writer, mentions descendants of Jude living in the reign of Domitian (81-96). Eusebius relates in his Historia Ecclesiae (Book III, ch. 19–20): "Of the family of the Lord there were still living the grandchildren of Jude, who is said to have been the Lord's brother according to the flesh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domitian The bishop of Salamis, Epiphanius, wrote in his work The Panarion (AD 374-375) that Joseph became the father of James and his three brothers (Joses, Simeon, Judah) and two sisters (a Salome and a Mary) or (a Salome and an Anna) https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/mark/6.3?lang=eng&clang=eng#p3 Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?
